Six biometric characters and 15 electrophoretic loci of three known subspecies of Podarcis bocagei were studied. Contrary to biometric indications, Podarcis bocagei berlengensis showed a closer genetic relationship with Podarcis bocagei carbonelli than with the nominal subspecies. The biometric results were confounded by the relative large size of P. b. berlengensis. Post‐glacial colonization from two different areas might explain the greater genetic differentiation between the P. b. bocagei and P. b. carbonelli populations (Nei's D ‐ 0.158 ‐ near the species threshold). It might also explain the known colonization of these two lizards through the islands off the west coast of the Iberian penninsula and their present distributions to the north of (Galicia; Northern Portugal) and to the south of the valley of river Douro (central Portugal, western and Sistema Central), respectively.

The mating calls of the Iberian midwife toads, A.o. boscai and A. cisternasii show clear differences. The calls of_A.o. boscai have a shorter duration (104.8ms) and a lower fundamental frequency (1.33 kHz) than those of A. cisternasii (172.0 ms and 1.45 kHz), between 12° and 16°C. In ooth species signal duration was found to be influenced by temperature.

The genetic structure and relationships of five populations of the Iberian group of Iberolacerta (sensuArribas 1999) were analysed by protein electrophoresis. In this study we confirmed the differentiation between the group of populations from Galicia/Cantabrian/S. Estrela versus the group of populations from de Spanish Central System, Gredos and Guadarrama that are included in the two different species by Arribas (Herpetozoa 9(1/2), 31–56, 1996; Russian J. Herpetol. 6, 1–22, 1999), Iberolacerta (I.) monticola and Iberolacerta (I.) cyreni, respectively. However, the differentiation level is not high enough to clearly prove their specific discrimination. On the other hand, we did not confirm the subspecific discrimination of the Gredos –Iberolacerta (I.) cyreni castiliana, and Guadarrama –Iberolacerta (I.) cyreni cyreni populations, proposed by Arribas (1996). These two populations are genetically almost homogeneous. Interestingly, we found an unexpected high genetic similarity between the Galician and the Serra da Estrela populations, presently included into two different subspecies, Iberolacerta (I.) monticola cantabrica and Iberolacerta (I.) monticola monticola, respectively. Their genetic similarity is even higher than that between the populations of Galicia and the Cantabrian Mountains, which are both included in the same subspecies, cantabrica. This result suggests that the populations of Galicia and Serra da Estrela would have maintained contacts, possibly through the north of Portugal, until relatively recent times. Their separation is thus probably post‐glacial. Some evidence also points to the existence of relatively recent contacts between the population of Serra da Estrela and those of the Central System, particularly, with the neighbouring Peña de Francia population. With the cautions imposed by the reduced sample size of our analysis, the significant differentiation of the populations from Galicia and the Cantabrian Mountains allow us to suggest that this last population may not be the result of a recent expansion of the Galician population as Arribas (1996) suggests, but, more likely, the result of a fragmentation process of a more ancient and wider north‐eastern distribution area of this group of rock‐lizards.

The mating call of Pelodytes punctatus from Algarve (Southern Portugal) is composed of two multipulsed motives, "a" and "b", lasting about 200 ms. One "a" is followed by two, three or more "b"s giving a sucession of "a-b-b-...". The inner timing in pulse rate acceleration distinguishes each motive. We suggest that the Algarve population has its own dialect, which is different from those of Camargue and Liguria, whose mating calls are longer (about 300 and 400 ms) with a syntax of "a-b" pairs. Pulse rates and durations change with temperature.

Genetic differentiation of Hyla arborea molleri and H. meridionalis was studied through allozyme electrophoresis and through essays of artificial hybridization. Samples were taken at several localities in Portugal, where these species occur either in sympatry or allopatry, and at one locality in France. Of the 21 presumptive loci analyzed, 6 were monoallelic, while 9 loci were discriminative between both species. A relatively high level of genetic differentiation was found between the two species (NEI's D = 0.725), contrasting with their morphological similarity. Remarkably low levels of genetic variability were found within species, with greater differentiation found among samples of H. meridionalis than of H. a. molleri. Although the capacity for interspecific hybridization was low, hybrid embryos resulted from both reciprocal crosses, but with much greater success in the cross ♂H. a. molleri x δH. meridionalis. Hybrids showed greater similarity with the male parent, and showed heterozygote allozymic phenotypes for discriminative loci. Results are compared with those of similar studies on the same and different species of Hyla, and differentiation of H. a. molleri and H. meridionalis is discussed in relation to their taxonomic status and origin.

Resumo Este artigo analisa como as principais políticas públicas brasileiras de saúde da mulher, desde 2000, definem e caracterizam seu público-alvo. Marcando uma articulação entre distintos conjuntos de agentes, campos disciplinares e tecnologias de governo, as políticas operam representando e conformando o sujeito a quem se destinam. No campo da saúde da mulher, essa operação também é viabilizada mediante a modulação do sexo e do gênero, especificamente a reiteração de códigos responsáveis por designar a “natureza” da mulher. Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental realizada através da perspectiva antropológica de análise de documentos, que investigou as peças documentais da Política Nacional de Atenção Integral à Saúde da Mulher (2004), da Rede Cegonha (2011) e documentos correlatos. Os temas da fertilidade e da reprodução têm se mostrado persistentes no conjunto de ações em saúde da mulher, formando os núcleos que concentram esforços e verbas estatais. A mulher constituída pelas políticas de saúde tem maiores chances de acessar seus direitos de cidadania por meio de sua função como potencial reprodutora. Identifica-se a complexidade da construção de um sujeito de direitos, mesmo quando esteve imbuída de um certo ideário emancipatório, presente nos interstícios do Estado.
