Funktionelle, psychosoziale und morphologische Befunde führen in unterschiedlichster Kombination zu chronischen Schmerzerkrankungen. Um eine gezielte Therapiestrategie zu entwickeln, bedarf es einer multimodalen interdisziplinären Diagnostik. In dieser können die unterschiedlichsten Einflussfaktoren herausgearbeitet, gewertet und in ein gezieltes Therapieprogramm umgesetzt werden. Das ANOA-Konzept verbindet die multimodale Schmerztherapie mit der Differenzialdiagnostik und -Therapie der pathogenetisch wichtigen Funktionsstörungen des Bewegungssystems. Diese werden nicht nur als Auslöser oder Sekundärphänomen chronischer Schmerzen verstanden, sondern als eigenständiger Einflussfaktor.
