The earliest record of this species is dated back to 2005. Intensive investigations, habitat mapping and ecological research of C. heros were started in 2008. Our researches were focused on the larval instars and also on the conservation of the habitats. Most of the discussed C. heros populations were strong with high abundance. In the present study, we publish the results of the records done in 2008 and 2009.
Between 1976 and 1998 researchers of the Hungarian Entomological Society conducted 9 collecting trips to Macedonia. In this paper the authors provide a list of Lamellicornia with collecting data, collected on these trips. 10 Lamellicornia families, 42 genera, 99 species are listed. The records of 15 species are new as previous published records of these do not exist. The newly recorded species are: Platycerus caraboides (L.), Lethrus apterus (Laxm.), Lethrus elephas Reitter, Ochodaeus chrysomeloides (Schrank), Aphodius pusillus (Herbst), A. quadriguttatus (Herbst), A. coenosus (Panz.), A. sphacelatus (Panz.), A. biguttatus Germ., Onthophagus ovatus (L.), O. panici Petr., O. sericatus Reitt., O. similis (Scriba), Amphimallon assimile (Herbst), A. ochraceum (Knoch).
Data to the leaf-beetle fauna of Macedonia. {Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) - During the period of 1976-2004 the authors organized 10 collecting trips to localities in the areas of historical Macedonia (Republic of Macedonia, Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria and the Macedonian provinces of Greece). They have found 213 species of 61 genera in 11 subfamilies of Chrysomelidae. 23 species proved to be new to the fauna of the Republic of'Macedonia (ex Yugoslavian Macedonia).
The root vole ( Microtus oeconomus spp. mehelyi) is a glacial relict mammal in the Pannonian ecoregion, and strictly protected in Hungary. Presence of the subpecies was searched by live-trapping method in the Balatoni Nagyberek marshland area (southern part of Lake Balaton). Nineteen locations were surveyed and capture of root vole was succeeded in eight locations. Knowledge and management of habitats used by this subspecies are important in nature conservation point of view.
The entomological investigations in Somogy county started in the second half of the 1800's. Thanks to the devoted efforts of many researchers, the following checklist gives an excel lent representation of the rich fauna of the area. According to the data available, Somogy county is considered to be a well investigated area. In Somogy county, 65% of the Silphidae, 58% of the Histeriade, and 75% of the Lamellicornia fauna of Hungary have been recorded so far.
During the period 1981 to 2004 the researchers of the Hungarian Entomological Society organised 9 collecting trips to West- and Central Greece, to the Pelopponisos and some other Greek islands (Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Thíra). This article contains the data related to the leaf beetles of 11 subfamilies, 40 genera and 114 species collected on these trips. Psylliodes toelgi Heiertinger, 1914 was proven to be a new record to Greece.
In the end of 1990’s a dam was planned to built on the River Drava in the area of Novo Virje (Croatia). In 1999 preliminiary examintions were carried out in order to determine the samping sites of a further monitoring, which was started in 2000. The aim of this project was to estimate the ecological status of the Drava-valley. The examinations were implemented in 17 sampling sites, using pitfall trap series. 140 ground beetle species has been caught including several rare and protected species. In this study we present the faunistical data of the ground beetles collected between 1999 and 2005.
Between 2005-2011, distribution of protected plant species was mapped in the loess hills of Marcali-hát, the marshland of Nagyberek, the southern shorezone of Lake Balaton and Külső-Somogy hills (Somogy county). Altogether, 72 protected and 1 strictly protected species were recorded. 9 species (Menyanthes trifoliata, Ophioglossum vulgatum, Anacamptis pyramidalis, Gymnadenia conopsea, Platanthera bifolia, Linum hirsutum, Aster amellus, Eleocharis uniglumis and Agrostemma githago) are new for the local flora.
