AbstrakJeruk Nipis (Citrus aurantifolia S.) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat keluarga yang banyak terdapat ditengah masyarkat dan banyak digunakan sebagai ramuan tradisional. Bagian yang sering digunakan adalah air perasannya, dengan salah satu manfaat dapat digunakan untuk menghilangkan jerawat serta penyembuhan luka agar tidak terjadi abses. Jerawat dan abses pada luka merupakan salah satu infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui daya hambat air perasan buah jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia S.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus secara invitro. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metoda eksperimental laboratorium dengan desain postest only control group design yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Andalas.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa air perasan buah jeruk nipis memiliki daya hambat terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan berbagai konsentrasi yaitu 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% dan terdapat pengaruh lama kontak terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri dimana bakteri tidak tumbuh seteleh kontak 5 menit pertama dan diikuti menit-menit berikutnya dengan air perasan buah jeruk nipis konsentrasi 100%. Jadi, semakin tinggi konsentrasi air perasan buah jeruk nipis dan semakin lama kontak dengan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus maka daya hambatnya semakin baik.Kata kunci: Uji Daya Hambat, Air Perasan Buah Jeruk Nipis, Staphylococcus aureus.Abstract Lime (Citrus aurantifolia S.) is kind of family’s herbal medicine, most using in the community is widely used as a traditional herb. The most common used part is the lime fruit squeeze with one of the function is used for removing acne and wound healing to prevent the form of abscess. Pimples and abscesses of the wound is one of the infections caused by the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus.The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of lime fruit (Citrus aurantifolia S.) squeeze towards the growth of the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus in vitro condition. The study was conducted with laboratory experimental methods to the design of control group design postest only performed at the Laboratory of Microbiology Faculty of Medicine, University of Andalas.The results showed that the lime fruit (Citrus aurantifolia S.) squeeze has the ability to inhibite the bacterial growth of Staphylococcus aureus with various concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% and there is the effect of contact time on the growth of bacteria which the bacteria do not grow after contact the first 5 minutes and the next minute followed by lime fruit squeeze with 100% concentration lime fruit squeeze. Thus, the higher the concentration of lime fruit squeeze and the longer the contact with the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus is the better towards.Keywords:Inhibition test, The Lime Fruit Squeeze, Staphylococcus Aureus.
AbstrakPreeklampsia merupakan penyakit dengan angka morbiditas dan mortalitas yang tinggi. Penyebab pasti terjadinya preeklampsia belum diketahui, namun terdapat faktor risiko yang mempengaruhi kejadian preeklampsia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan status gravida dan usia ibu terhadap kejadian preeklampsia di RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang pada tahun 2012-2013. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2014 sampai Februari 2014 di bagian Rekam Medis dengan menggunakan desain cross sectional study komparatif terhadap 81 pasien preeklampsia dan 81 ibu hamil tidak preeklampsia yang bersalin di RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang pada tahun 2012-2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proporsi primigravida yang menderita preeklampsia 1,52 kali lebih banyak daripada primigravida yang tidak preeklampsia. Proporsi ibu yang berusia dalam kategori usia risiko tinggi (< 20 tahun dan > 35 tahun) dan menderita preeklampsia 4,43 kali lebih banyak daripada yang tidak menderita preeklampsia.Setelah dilakukan analisis melalui uji chi square, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara status gravida dan usia ibu dengan kejadian preeklampsia (p < 0,05). AbstractPreeklampsia is a disease with high morbidity and mortality. The exact cause of preeklampsia still unknown, but there are risk factors that affect the preeklampsia's incident. The objective of this study was to determine the correlation between gravidity and maternal age with preeklampsia's incident in RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang on 2012 -2013.The research was did in January 2014 to February 2014 at Medical Records department using cross sectional study comparative's design toward 81 preeclamptic patients and 81 pregnant women who didn 't preeklampsia, which gave birth in RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang on 2012 -2013 The results showed that the proportion of primigravidae who suffer from preeklampsia is 1.52 times more than primigravidae who do not. Proportion of mother who is in the age category of high risk (< 20 years and > 35 years) and suffer from preeklampsia is 4.43 times more than who don't .After analyzed by chi square test, it is concluded that there are significant correlation between gravidity and maternal age with preeklampsia's incident in RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang on 2012 -2013 (p < 0.05).
BACKGROUND: Osteoarthritis (OA) is generally considered a degenerative joint disease caused by biomechanical changes and the ageing process. In OA pathogenesis, the development of OA is thought to be regulated largely by excess matrix metalloproteinase (MMP), which contributes to the degradation of extracellular matrices such as MMP-1 and Interleukin-4. AIM: This study aims to prove the influence of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Wharton Jelly on decreasing MMP-1 levels and increasing IL-4 which is a specific target as a target component in cases of osteoarthritis in vivo. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This research is an experimental study with the design of Post-Test-Only Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 16 OA rats as a control group and 16 OA rats treated with MSC-WJ as a treatment group. OA induction is done by injection of monosodium iodoacetate (MIA) into the intra-articular right knee. Giving MSC-WJ is done in the third week after MIA induction. The serum MMP-1 and IL-4 levels were measured after 3 weeks treated with MSC-WJ using the ELISA method. The statistical test used is an independent t-test. The value of p < 0.05 was said to be statistically significant. RESULTS: The result showed that serum MMP-1 levels were higher in the group treated with MSC-WJ than in the control group (p < 0.05). Serum IL-4 levels were higher in the group treated with MSC-WJ than in the control group (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: This study concluded that MSC-WJ increased MMP-1 levels and IL-4 levels in serum OA rats. MSC-WJ showed a negative effect on MMP-1 in the serum of OA rats.
AbstrakStatus gizi memiliki pengaruh yang sangat besar terhadap kesehatan individu, sehingga mempengaruhi kualitas sumber daya manusia dimasa yang akan datang. Status gizi balita tergantung pada asupan gizi, tingkat pengetahuan ibu, tingkat ekonomi keluarga, pendidikan ibu, pola asuh dan ketahanan pangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan hubungan tingkat pengetahuan ibu dan tingkat ekonomi keluarga nelayan dengan status gizi balita. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari Juli 2014 sampai Januari 2015. Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional study dengan jumlah subjek 21 orang ibu balita. Data dianalisis secara univariat dengan tabel frekuensi dan analisa bivariat dengan tabel silang lalu diuji dengan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian ialah balita yang memiliki gizi kurus sebanyak 9,5% dan yang memiliki gizi normal sebanyak 90,5%. Pengetahuan ibu rendah sebanyak 52,3% dan pengetahuan ibu tinggi sebanyak 47,6%. Tingkat ekonomi keluarga didapatkan keluarga miskin sebanyak 95,2% dan keluarga tidak miskin sebanyak 4,8%. Hasil uji statistik didapatkan tidak ada hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan ibu dan tingkat ekonomi keluarga dengan status gizi balita.Kata kunci: status gizi, balita, tingkat pengetahuan ibu, tingkat ekonomi keluarga AbstractNutritional status has a profound influence in individual’s health that affecting the quality of human resources in the future. Nutritional status depends on food intake, mother’s knowledge, family economics, mother’s education, nurturing pattern and food availability. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship level of mother’s knowledge and fishermen’s family economic with nutritional status of toddler. This research was conducted between July 2014 and January 2015 to 21 mothers with toddler. Cross sectional study was used as study design. Data were analyzed by univariate analysis with frequency tables and bivariate analysis with cross table using Rank Spearman. Result showed that 9.5% of the toddlers are under nutrition and 90.5% are normal. 52.3% of the mothers have low knowledge level whereas 47.6% are higher. 95.2% of the families are in the poverty line and 4.8% are not. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between level of mother’s knowledge and fishermen economic with nutritional status of toddler.Keywords: nutritional status, toddler, level of mother’s knowledge, family economic
AbstrakLuka bakar merupakan masalah yang serius dalam kesehatan dunia, khususnya di negara berkembang. Di Indonesia belum ada laporan tertulis mengenai jumlah penderita luka bakar dan jumlah angka kematian yang diakibatkannya. Di RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang pada tahun 2010 ditemukan 84 kasus luka bakar dengan penyebab sengatan listrik, siraman air panas, kompor, dan minyak panas. Sejumlah studi menunjukkan bahwa tanaman tradisional potensial sebagai agen penyembuhan luka, salah satunya papain getah pepaya (Carica papaya). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pembentukan jaringan granulasi pada penyembuhan luka bakar tikus percobaan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan posttest only control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah 10 ekor tikus Wistar jantan yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol (K) dan kelompok perlakuan (P). Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari lima (5) ekor tikus. Plat logam (1,5 cm x 1,5 cm) yang dipanaskan digunakan untuk menghasilkan luka bakar full thickness pada bagian dorsal tikus. Papain getah pepaya diberikan pada kelompok P selama 7 hari. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian papain getah pepaya tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan (p > 0,05) terhadap pembentukan jaringan granulasi pada penyembuhan luka bakar tikus percobaan. Pada kelompok P didapatkan hasil pembuluh darah 29,26 ± 12,34, fibroblas 26,40 ± 21,94, neutrofil 1,4 ± 0,44, limfosit 1,06 ± 0,13, dan makrofag 1,00 ± 0,00. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah papain getah pepaya tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pembentukan jaringan granulasi pada penyembuhan luka bakar tikus percobaan Kata kunci: papain, jaringan granulasi, luka bakar, penyembuhan luka AbstractBurn wounds is the serious problem in world health specifically for developing contries. In Indonesia, there is no written report about burn wounds patient and mortality account yet. In 2010, M. Djamil Padang Government Public Hospital found 84 cases of burn wounds with some causes as burn effect from sting of electric, hot water, stove flame and hot oil. Some researches indicate that traditional plant able to be wound healing agent as papaya sap. The purposed of this studi was to find out the effect of papain from papaya sap to granulation tissue formation on burn wounds healing in rat models. This was experimental research with posttest only control group design. The subjects were ten male Wistar rats divided in to two group (control group K and experimental group P). Every group consist of five rats. Heated metal plat (1,5 cm x 1,5 cm) used to get full thickness burn wound on dorsal rat part. Then, papain of papaya sap was given to group P for seven days. The results showed that papain of papaya sap didn't have significant effect (p > 0,05) to granulation tissue formation in burn wound healing of rat models.
