Acidente de trabalho é toda ocorrência durante o exercício profissional, relacionado aos riscos ocupacionais que o profissional se encontra exposto. Entre os profissionais da enfermagem a prevalência está relacionada a acidentes com perfurocortante. OBJETIVO: Relatar acidentes de trabalhado com perfurocortante durante práticas entre profissionais de enfermagem, e suas condutas dentro de um hospital universitário. RELATO DE CASO: A prática assistencial decorreu em uma enfermaria de um Hospital Universitário entre julho e agosto de 2022. Nesse período de prática em serviço presenciou-se dois episódios em que técnicos de enfermagem se perfuraram, apresentando resistência à consulta disponibilizada pelo hospital, sendo este, referência em todo o território do Oeste do Paraná para este tipo de ocorrência. O primeiro caso, ao se acidentar com o perfurocortante durante procedimento de punção venosa, relatou aos colegas do setor sobre o ocorrido, realizou a limpeza no local da perfuração com água e sabão, voltando às atividades. Foi orientado pela enfermeira para realizar consulta médica, porém, informou que iria após seu turno de trabalho. Não foi realizado Comunicação de Acidente de Trabalho (CAT) e no dia seguinte, ao ser questionado sobre realização de consulta, alegou esquecimento, sendo reorientado a realizá-la. O segundo caso, referiu que ao realizar a punção venosa em um paciente, ao colocar o cateter venoso flexível utilizado na bandeja, perfurou-se. Foi orientada a realizar consulta hospitalar, apresentando bastante resistência em deixar suas tarefas para fazer isso, informando que iria após o turno laboral. Durante conversa informou que amamentava, o que se tornou um fator para a sensibilização para ir à consulta. Após o trabalho, foi ao consultório médico levando a CAT, relatando no dia seguinte o atendimento e encaminhamentos. DISCUSSÃO: A exposição ocupacional gera elevado risco aos profissionais da saúde, podendo levar sequelas ao longo da vida ou acarretar a morte. Negligenciar cuidados a si próprio, torna-se adverso às suas responsabilidades e deveres. CONCLUSÃO: Apesar de estudos apontarem a prevalência de acidentes de trabalho dentro das atribuições da enfermagem, nota-se que ainda existe grande resistência dos profissionais, a realizar atendimentos quando são acometidos por acidentes durante a prestação de serviço.
Em 2004, a Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) lançou a "Aliança Mundial para Segurança do Paciente", para conscientização e aprimoramento da segurança do paciente. Entre outras coisas, estabeleceu diretrizes para a implementação do checklist de cirurgia segura a ser realizado antes da indução anestésica, antes da incisão cirúrgica e antes do paciente sair da sala de operação. OBJETIVO: Avaliar a realização do checklist de cirurgia segura pela equipe cirúrgica de um hospital universitário localizado no oeste paranaense. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de estudo observacional realizado entre os meses de junho e julho de 2022, durante as atividades assistenciais desenvolvidas na unidade de centro cirúrgico do referido hospital. A coleta de dados foi realizada por residentes de enfermagem, tendo aprovação do comitê de ética em pesquisa, Parecer 4.724.388, CAAE: 50066815.8.0000.0107. RESULTADOS: No total foi observado a realização de 35 checklist de procedimentos cirúrgicos durante o período estipulado para a coleta de dados. Observou-se que a maioria das verificações de cirurgia segura era realizada pela equipe da enfermagem, havendo uma certa resistência à adesão ao checklist por algumas especialidades médicas. No período avaliado, observou-se a prevenção de um possível evento adverso com a realização do checklist de cirurgia segura de forma adequada. Nesse caso, o paciente já estava posicionado na mesa cirúrgica, pronto para a indução anestésica, quando, durante a conferência dos materiais, o cirurgião alertou que não havia em sala o material necessário para a efetivação do procedimento cirúrgico e o mesmo foi cancelado antes do paciente ser anestesiado. No entanto, o estudo também observou um caso em que a realização do checklist foi falha, visto que a constatação de que o material necessário para a realização da cirurgia estava em falta no hospital foi feita depois que o paciente já estava anestesiado. CONCLUSÃO: A realização da verificação de cirurgia segura reduz a ocorrência de eventos adversos, evitáveis na sua grande maioria, e proporciona maior segurança tanto para paciente quanto para profissionais de saúde.
