EXAMINATION OF BASIC VALUES AND ACADEMIC DISHONESTY TENDENCIES OF PRE-SERVICE ELEMENTARY TEACHERS ABSTRACTThis research that aims to investigate pre-service elementary teachers' basic values and their academic dishonesty tendencies and to determine the correlation between these variables, is based on the correlative investigation model, a descriptive research design. The study conducted with 892 pre-service elementary teachers', "The Portrait Values Questionnaire" (Schwartz et al., 2012) which adopted in Turkish language by Demirutku and Tekinay (2016) and "The Academic Dishonesty Tendency Scale" developed by Eminoğlu (2008) were used as data collection tools. T-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficients were used in the analysis of the research data. According to the results of the research, it is observed that pre-service elementary teachers attach importance to "security-societal", "benevolence-dependability" and "universalism-concern" values and the least to "power-resources" and "power-dominance" values and pre-service elementary teachers tend to have a partial academic dishonesty tendency. It has been determined that the academic dishonesty tendency and values differs according to pre-service elementary teachers' gender and grade level. It has been found that there is a positive and significant correlation between the pre-service elementary teachers' some of basic values and the academic dishonesty tendencies, and there is a negative and meaningful correlation between some of their basic values and the academic dishonesty tendencies. Sustainability refers to the careful use of natural resources by considering future generations. Especially in the food sector, the sustainability of resources and the reduction of environmental impacts are very important. The relationship between gastronomy and sustainability might be described using the term “eco-gastronomy.” As practitioners of gastronomy, it is very important that chefs recognize the ecosystem, protect natural resources, and respect the natural environment. In this context, the aim of the study is to provide potential chef candidates with the opportunity to express their emotions via creative design by incorporating sustainability, eco-gastronomy, and art. A total of 21 students were included in the study. With these students, designs related to both sustainability and gastronomy were realized, and they were enabled to design and present sustainable green restaurant logos and slogans in accordance with the concept they determined. Consequently, it was seen that the design stages and creativity stages of the students were exactly the same.
