Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the debates about the validity and reliability criteria that are frequently addressed in the qualitative research tradition. For this purpose, concerns about validity and reliability issue have been analyzed in detail based on epistemological and theoretical conceptualizations. As a result of the analysis, it is seen that the issue of validity and reliability is important and researchers propose various conceptual and theoretical approaches to the subject. In addition to the views suggesting that these propositions regarding validity and reliability issue can be defined in various ways and function differently based on epistemological and theoretical differences. It is also seen that there are views emphasizing that the quality of each study should be assessed separately with a more rhetorical approach because it refuses to have pre-determined criteria in qualitative researches. Based on this analysis, the general conclusion that measuring the quality of qualitative studies is a controversial issue and there is no single way to measure quality has been obtained. Keywords
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between school engagement and burnout of university students. The research employs relational survey model and the participants are 472 students studying at a public university in Ankara in Turkey. The data collection tools were "The Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey" and "University Student Engagement Inventory". The findings of the research show that the relationship between university students' school engagement and emotional exhaustion, cynicism and efficacy subscales of burnout levels was moderate whereas students' school engagement is found to be a significant predictor of all subscales burnout. The findings of the research showed that the level of the relationship between university students' school engagement and subscales of burnout (exhaustion, cynicism, academic efficacy) was moderate and students' school engagement is found to be a significant predictor of all subscales of burnout.
Problem Statement: The quality of teaching at schools mostly depends on the teachers' competencies. One of these competencies is measurement and evaluation (MaE). Evaluation of the students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development requires skills and knowledge about various measuring tools and techniques. It is essential for a teacher to have a good command of the concepts in MaE, certain skills, and positive attitudes. In this way, teachers can evaluate and develop their own teaching methods and reach fewer value judgments, and consequently, they can have better professional perceptions of themselves. Therefore, this study anticipates the existence of a relationship between teachers' attitude on MaE and perception of professional well-being (PWB).
Data usage-related reforms lead schools to different practices in terms of management. The conceptualization of data usage and data-based management will ensure that robust steps are taken for the future in terms of reforms made or to be made in the name of education. In this direction, this study is developed as a qualitative case study to determine the opinions of school administrators for data-based management on a school basis. The working group consists of 12 administrators, seven of whom are women and five of whom are men, who work in private and public schools. Purposive sampling method was used to determine the participants. Data from the working group were collected through the semi-structured interview form and themes were created by analyzing in NVino 11. In line with the established themes, the opinions of the administrators were also evaluated. According to the research findings, administrators mostly use data on "e-Okul" and "MEBBIS" modules. Administrators use the said data in decision-making processes, to meet the demands of senior management units, to work with stakeholders, to increase student success. While the administrators stated that there is not enough support or software products to use the data more effectively in the management process, they stated that there is a need for a series of trainings and that these trainings should be in the form of hands-on workshops. They also stated that there should be auxiliary personnel and support services for data analysis. Administrators who reported their problems with time management in accessing data stated that they were not proficient in data analysis and had problems with the motivation, quality, and workload of the personnel.
