Abstract
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become hot issue around the globe including Indonesia since its first occurence in Wuhan, Hubei, China in December 2019. In obstetric anesthesia, COVID-19 patients undergoing Caesarian Section is a problem requiring great concern. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) recommends intra-spinal anesthesia in Caesarian Section procedure for patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. General anesthesia (GA) is known to increase risk of aerozolisation which puts clinicians to be exposed to that virus. Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) stated that GA procedure for COVID-19 patients are suggested to use Heat and Moisture Exchanging Filter (HMEF) in anesthesia breathing circuit as a reliable filter which can filter both bacteria and viruses well. Therefore it can lower cross-contamination risk.
