Academic flow is an important factor characterized by feelings of happiness, increase in concentration and self-control, focus and activities, thereby making students’ learning effective. However, exploration of academic flow is still limited, specifically during the global pandemic, which forced students to study from home, including in Indonesia. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of students' academic self-efficacy and social support towards academic flow during the pandemic. Data were collected from 400 college students consisting of 135 males and 265 females. The measurements used in this study are Flow Inventory for Student, College Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (CASES), and Social Provisions Scale (SPS). Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to test the hypotheses. The result showed that academic self-efficacy and social support positively and significantly influenced college students' academic flow during online learning. This means an increase in academic self-efficacy and social support will likely lead to a rise in academic flow, specifically during the pandemic.
This research aims to find the effect of emotion regulation with strategies like cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression toward family functioning in young married couples in Indonesia. The General Functioning of The Family Assessment Device and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire were completed by married young adults aged between 18-25 years old. Multiple regression was used for data analysis. Results showed that emotion regulation significantly influences family functioning in married emerging adulthood. Furthermore, the partial measurement of cognitive reappraisal emotion regulation towards family functioning in a marital relationship in emerging adulthood showed a significant negative influence. Meanwhile, expressive suppression of emotion regulation predicts higher family functioning in married emerging adults. This study also showed that most respondents have healthy family functioning and use cognitive reappraisal in emotional regulation strategies for both genders. Furthermore, demographic data also showed the highest percentage using of expressive suppression among men than women. This research illustrates that individuals could achieve healthy family functioning during the age period of emerging adulthood. In addition, in the context of marital relationships among individuals in the emerging adulthood age period, there are also more adaptive emotion regulation strategies, the use of cognitive reappraisal emotional regulation strategies are better used by married emerging adults for better healthy family functioning in the family.
There is growing attention in the measurement of future time perspective in the last couple of decades. This concept has been demonstrated to help people manage and achieve goals, including acquiring knowledge, extending social networks, and managing positive emotional experiences. The scale was initially developed in the Occidental countries and widely used there. The authors aimed to translate and validate the Future Time Perspective (FTP) scale into the Indonesian language and test the scale's psychometric properties. Four hundred thirty-one psychology students were recruited to complete the Indonesian version of the scale. Analysis of the scale's internal consistency, construct, and factorial validity was performed using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The EFA analysis confirmed the two-factor model of the 10-item FTP-I scale as the best solution. Implications and future recommendations of the current study are discussed.
Certain phenomena have been found within our target for Community Service activity of the Faculty of Psychology Education, the State University of Jakarta, which is taking place at SMPN 139, Jakarta. The issue that arose from the target school is despite being an inclusive school, the understanding among the teachers still lacks regarding particular special needs of students. The stigma said that Gifted children were considered an advantage; they thought Gifted children didn't need special treatment and managing adaptable programs to facilitate Gifted children. In fact, special need children even Gifted one still need to optimize their capacities with the proper program that could be managed by the school. In an effort to increase this awareness, teachers will be involved this community service, which includes several activities. Our program mainly focused on Psychoeducation in the form of webinars through material presentations, video, discussion. The result of the community Service program at SMPN 139 Jakarta showed the significant differences between the results before giving psychoeducation program, and after the program, it means there was an effect of providing Psychoeducation about gifted students to increase the awareness of teachers at SMPN 139 East Jakarta.
Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to examine participant’s hopes whether the pandemic will end based on the perception of risk concerning vulnerability, severity, and anxiety as well as their knowledge about the pandemic among university students in Indonesia. Methodology: 431 (20 % male and 80 % female; Age mean = 19.98; SD = 1.421) undergraduate students in psychology were recruited from across university in Indonesia. A battery scale consists of three questionnaires evaluating perceived risk, knowledge, and hope were administered using the online survey. A multiple regression analysis was applied to examine the hypotheses. Main Findings: The results demonstrated that perceived risk and knowledge emerge as significant predictors of hope. The results also showed that there was a negative relationship between the dimension of perceived risk and hope. There was no significant correlation between health knowledge and hope. The results indicated a statistically significant model of regression. However, this study revealed that there was no statistically significant difference between health knowledge and hope. Applications of this study: The psychological aspect of risk perception and knowledge could be acknowledged as important variables to enhance the hope of university students to face this pandemic. Novelty/Originality of this study: The study offers a further explanation about the scope of earlier research in the field of hope in pandemic -19. It also provides a new research paradigm to the area of perceived risk by introducing understudied individual factors, such as knowledge associated with the hope of facing the pandemic among college students.
