A photonic crystal fiber with two large air holes outside the holey cladding region is fabricated to induce an effective long periodic grating (LPG) in the core by an electric arc discharge. We believe that the two large air holes lead to the asymmetric perturbation in the core under the electric arc discharge, thereby introducing the coupling to the first higher-order mode. The transmission characteristics of the PCF with the LPG for the external perturbation such as strain, curvature, and temperature are also investigated. It was found that the shift of resonance peak in the transmission spectrum depends on the bending direction. The curvature of 8.55 m -1 results in the center wavelength shifts of 1.8, 4.3, and 11 nm for a vertical, diagonal, and horizontal direction of the curvature to the large air-hole alignment, respectively.

The purpose of this study is to report the improved case of superior labrum from anterior to posterior tear patient treated with Shinbaro pharmacopuncture and motion style acupuncture treatment. We used Shinbaro pharmacopucture, motion style acupuncture treatment and other korean medicine treatment for this patient. This case is measured and assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS), shoulder range of motion (ROM) and shoulder physical examination (Neer test, O'Brien test). After treatment, VAS decreased and the patient showed improvement of range of motion. Also physical examination of shoulder was improved. Shinbaro pharmacopuncture and motion style acupuncture treatment are thought to be helpful to relieve pain and recover function on shoulder joints, although further study is needed.

Objectives This study is planned to classify correlation between HIVD of L-spine MRI and Digital Infrared Thermal Image (DITI). Methods We measured the temperature of both leg whose 120 men and 116 women patients with lumbar pain in Bucheon Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital. And We use Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for classifying the patients who has lumbar intervertebral disc or not. Results 1) There was no statistical relation between difference of both leg's temperature and gender (p＞0.05). 2) There was meaningful statistical relation between difference of both leg's temperature and age (p＜0.05). 3) There was meaningful statistical relation between direction of HIVD of L-spine and direction of temperature reduction. 4) There was meaningful statistical relation between the severity of HIVD of L5/S1 and degree of temperature reduction. But there was no statistical relation between the severity of HIVD of L3/4, L4/5 and degree of temperature reduction. Conclusions We can use Digital Infrared thermal image (DITI) on low back pain patients for diagnosis. But we should not use DITI alone. DITI has limit in diagnosis.
