We analyse energy efficiency versus quality characteristics of hashing algorithms in a mobile device and describe methodologies for energy measurement on a Javaenabled smart phone.
We analyse energy efficiency vs. cipher strenth of AES/Rijndael crypto algorithms in a mobile device with respect to block and key size. The experimental results show that Pareto-optimal solutions have equal block and key sizes. We also propose three energy/security profiles for the users of mobile devices. As decryption operation requires 14% more energy than encryption, the results of energy consumption measurements when performing data encrypion can be used to predict energy consumption of decryption operation. Abstract:We discuss the application of the metaprogramming techniques for soft IP design. Two metaprogramming paradigms are considered: the internal (using capabilities of the single language) and external (based on the usage of the target language and external metalanguage simultaneously) ones. The novelty of our approach is that we apply the concept of the multi-dimensional separation of concerns implemented via metaprogramming for the design of parameterized soft IPs for embedded systems in order to achieve higher flexibility, reusability and customizability.
We analyze the development of educational (EDU) web portals from the perspective of meta-design. Here, we focus on the technical issues of meta-design only and consider design-for-change. Our contribution is a variability model based on the variability analysis, generic portal development processes, sub-processes and their relationships. We analyze the interface design problem in the context of the EDU Portal development and consider the implementation of the proposed model using meta-programming.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
