Smart technology has become of great importance in the tourism sector at present, especially in light of the great developments in the field of information and communication technology and the use of artificial intelligence techniques in many fields, including the tourism field. This research focuses on the concept of Smart technology, its importance in tourism, and its applications in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. The new administrative capital in Egypt is chosen to conduct the research. The study examines two research questions: (1) What is the extent of smart technology applications in restaurants, the Capital International Airport, and the hotel? (2) What is the current use of artificial intelligence applications in restaurants, the Capital International Airport, and the hotel? The study aims to illustrate the types of smart technology applications; to identify the importance of using smart technology applications; to evaluate the current use of artificial intelligence applications; and to provide helpful recommendations based on the study findings. Surveys, the checklist form, and content analysis methods were used for gathering data. The results revealed that the hotel and the Capital International Airport don't offer new types of smart services to guests till now although they have good technology infrastructure. The study recommended the implementation of some smart services for travelers at airports such as applying smart apps that direct passengers to complete their airport formalities perfectly. Moreover, applications of smart restaurants and smart rooms in the hotels should also be implemented.
Domestic tourism in the Alexandria governorate suffers from many challenges as challenging tourist behaviors. The aim of the study is to investigate existing proper behavior instructions in hotels, beaches, and archaeological sites in Alexandria Governorate show the frequent tourist misbehavior and activate the role of tourism and hotel stakeholders in avoiding these behaviors; highlight the domestic tourism challenges and eventually, present recommendations on improving services provided to the tourists in Alex. A quantitative survey with a questionnaire was targeted domestic tourists who had previously spent their holidays in Alexandria Governorate and stayed in its hotels. The sample consisted of 354 participants. Data revealed the inadequate of existing proper behavior instructions and the weak role of tourism and hospitality stakeholders to increase awareness of domestic tourists towards proper behaviors on tourist beaches, in hotels, and archeological places. The study also found out occurrences frequencies of improper behaviors of the domestic tourists that merit the most immediate attention before its exacerbation. The study also revealed challenges related to tourism of beaches as inadequate services and the absence of many tourist facilities. The study recommends firstly, developing the infrastructure services that are right for the customers' need; setting ground rules for visitor behavior to crack down on tourist misbehaving tourists, and finally, encouraging and supporting positive behaviors among domestic tourists through announcing periodic competitions among Egyptian visitors in touristic places and choosing the perfect local tourist.
The Grand Egyptian Museum is considered one of the most important civilizational projects in the current century, as for its unique location, features, and cultural importance. The research was focusing on: Definition of Museums, Importance of Museums in Tourism Destinations, the GEM Importance, its role in promoting the International Tourism to Egypt. The study aims to identify the unique features of the GEM, illustrate its economic and tourism benefits, and mention the importance of opening the GEM in increasing and promoting the international tourism to Egypt. The study examines three research questions:(1)What are the most important features of the GEM that distinguished it from other museums worldwide?, (2)What is the role of the GEM in promoting the international tourism to Egypt?, (3) How can tourism organizations in Egypt benefit from the opening of the GEM in marketing Egyptian Tourism effectively?. Descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative methods were used, surveys was done to collect the data. The results revealed that the GEM will have a great role in revitalizing international tourism, especially cultural tourism in addition to conference and educational tourism and accessible tourism, furthermore providing suggestions to the tourism organizations in Egypt to benefit from the opening of the GEM in marketing Egyptian Tourism in a professional manner, the study provides valuable recommendations to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Egyptian General Authority for Tourist Promotion, Ministry of Civil Aviation, for promoting the Gem in effective way beside important recommendations for the GEM authority.
Special events are considered among the most important tourism patterns that can bring substantial benefits, promote tourist destinations, achieve multiple developmental, economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits to tourism and hospitality sectors. The main purpose of this research is to assess the impact of special events on the promoting and development of the tourism and hospitality sectors in tourist destinations. Conference of the parties (Cop 27) was chosen to conduct the field study. The quantitative method was used, (185) valid questionnaires were a data collection tool, where it was distributed to the general managers, deputy directors, executive directors, head of departments and the employees in hotels. It was also distributed to tourism officials and the tourism companies; the structural validity of the questionnaire was assessed by confirmatory factor analyses (CFA). Results showed that there is a positive statistically significant correlation between organizing the special events, promoting tourism and developing the tourism and hospitality sector in the tourist destination. Finally, the study contributed to providing important conclusions and recommendations about the, economic, social, cultural and environmental effects of special events on developing tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as promoting Sharm El-Sheikh, as an international tourist destination, in particular and Egypt in general.
