Lapicque 1 haben die interessante Beobachtung beschrieben, dab sich die Chronaxie eines noeh mit dem Rfiekenmark verbundenen motorischen 1Nerven verkfirzt, wenn der yon dem betreffenden Nerven versorgte Muskel passiv gedehnt wird.Es lag nahe zu untersuchen, ob in diesem, wie in manchen anderen Fs die Umstimmung des Nerven auf dem Wege fiber das vegetative System erfolgt. Diese Analyse erwies sieh, wenigstens am Frosch, als nieht durchffihrbar ; abet bei der grunds/~tzlichen Wichtigkeit der Lapicquesehen Beobaehtung sei hier fiber die Umstimmung als solche kurz,beriehtet.GroBhirnlose Temporarien win'den mittels B~ndern auf einer Korkplatte aufgebunden. I~ach Lapicque beeintrs eine zu straffe Fixierung des Frosches den Erfolg dieser Versuehe. Es erwies sieh aber als unmSglich, einen Frosch schonend so zu fixieren, dal~ er nicht doch gelegentlieh Entfesselungsversuche machte, die zu einer Verlagerung oder gar Abhebung des am Obersehenkel freigelegten Ischiadicus yon den Rejzelektroden ~fihrten. Diese spontanen Befreiungsversuche haben unsere Versuche immer wieder unterbrochen und machten sie fiberaus mfihselig.In Versuchen an zw61f Fr6schen wurde die Chronaxie des 1~. ischiadicus abwechselnd bei entspanntem und gespanntem Gastrocnemius mittels Kondensatorreizungen gemessen. Den 1~. peroneus hatten wir meist durchschnitten, umbei der Beobachtung des Erfolges der l~ervenreizung am Gastrocnemius nicht durch Zuckungen der Sprunggelenkbeuger gest6rt zu werden. Der Dehnungsgrad des Gastrocnemius wurde in manchen Versuchen durch abwechselnde passive Beugung und Streckung im Sprunggelenk ver~ndert, in anderen dadurch, dab wir mittels eines an die durehsehnittene Achillessehne angebundenen Fadens einen Zug auf den l~luskel ausfibten. Das Knie des untersuehten Beines war in diesen letztgenannten Versuchen mittels einer Igadel an der Korkplatte fixiert.Neun der untersuchten FrSsehe gaben keine eindeutigen Ergebnisse, aber bei drei FrSschen (Nr. 4, l0 und 12) war mit roller I~egelm~Bigkeit eine Verkfirzung der Chronaxie der motorischen Ischiadicusfasern bei passiver Anspannung des Gastrocnemius zu beobaehten.Die Kurven der Abb. 1 geben die Befunde an diesen drei Tieren wieder. Wie in der voranstehendcn Aa'beit yon Hc~yasi und Bri~cke ausgeftihrt wurde, dfirfte die wiederholt beobachtete Abh~ngigkeit der Nervenchronaxle yon der Reizfrequenz auf eine Erregbarkeits/~nderung zurfickzufiihren sein, die bei den untersuchten Nerven im Anschlug an eine Einzelerregung auftritt. Bisher ist die Abh~ngigkeit der Chronaxie yon der Reizfrequenz nut bei einzelnen sensiblen und bei zahlreichen vegetativen Nerven festgestellt worden. Es sehien uns daher interessant zu prfifen, ob sich etwa auch an motorisehen Nerven nach Ablaut einer Erregungswelle eine durch eine voriibergehende Verl/ingerung der Chronaxie gekennzeichnete Erregbarkeits~nderung nachweisen liege.
