Este artículo analiza el nuevo acuerdo entre el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) y Argentina firmado en el año 2018. Considerando la experiencia previa con el Fondo, contesto qué hay de nuevo en este periodo de endeudamiento. Desde la perspectiva neogramsciana, argumento que el FMI ha aplicado la estrategia de transformismo al incorporar un novedoso “pilar social” destinado a los pobres y las mujeres. Basado en el uso de fuentes primarias y secundarias, sostengo que la consideración de la pobreza fue un intento del Fondo por auto legitimar su regreso y desarticular el posible avance contrahegemónico, ya que buscó incorporar a aquellos que obstaculizaron la implementación de la agenda neoliberal hacia fines de los 90. A su vez, demuestro que la perspectiva de género carece de contenido y condicionalidades, por lo que opera como una estrategia discursiva para legitimar el Acuerdo al tomar un tema relevante en la agenda local. En cualquier caso, el pilar social no ha sido suficiente para consolidar una nueva hegemonía neoliberal.
Este artículo analiza la Regulación Privada Transnacional (RPT) a partir de la experiencia de la multinacional Monsanto en la Argentina, desde la crisis de 2001 hasta la venta de la Compañía en 2016, desde el estructuralismo constructivista de Pierre Bourdieu. El estudio de caso se centra en las interacciones de la corporación con los agentes reguladores en el campo nacional y el campo público global, considerando las consecuencias del uso extensivo de glifosato en la salud humana. El presente estudio evidencia que los actores emergentes en el campo público global no han sido suficientes para llevar a cabo las tareas de control y legislación propias del gobierno. En cambio, las instancias estatales siguieron siendo legítimas para la regulación corporativa, aunque el modelo basado en el consenso de los commodities precisó de controles laxos. Por último, se analizan los programas de responsabilidad social corporativa implementados por Monsanto y se advierte el impacto de estos sobre el capital simbólico del Estado-Nación. Se concluye que, en el marco de la RPT, el Estado Nacional argentino le ha habilitado a la corporación la construcción de sentido para reproducir el ingreso de divisas y hacer frente a las obligaciones financieras, tanto en el campo nacional como en el campo internacional.
Este artículo analiza la relación entre el Fondo Monetario Internacional y la Argentina a partir de las Misiones del año 2002 y 2016 desde el estructuralismo constructivista de Pierre Bourdieu. Se sostiene que el Fondo, en tanto instancia supraestatal que a su vez comparte el monopolio de la violencia simbólica con el Estado, otorga legitimidad a la elite local a partir de la rutina de la dependencia.
