Introducción: Actualmente el docente de Medicina necesita incorporar materiales digitales en su clase. Este acercamiento es mejor cuando se tiene una guía que apoye su elaboración aportando el enfoque de fomentar el razonamiento clínico. Objetivo: Desarrollar y validar un modelo instruccional para diseñar materiales educativos digitales, que apoyen el razonamiento clínico en la enseñanza de pregrado. Método: La primera validación del modelo se realizó con la técnica Delphi, en la que participó un panel de expertos, de dos Facultades de Medicina. A cada uno se le pidió analizar el modelo y hacer recomendaciones en base en: 1) la efectividad de las etapas propuestas, 2) la adecuación para las condiciones y necesidades de los docentes médicos, 3) el tiempo y facilidad de ejecución del modelo. Resultados: Los resultados indicaron un alto grado de aceptación del modelo por parte de los expertos. Las etapas y pasos fueron adecuados y valiosos, se señalaron cambios menores en cuanto al tiempo de ejecución y facilidad de uso para aquellos docentes dedicados a la enseñanza de tiempo parcial, lo cual dio origen a una versión alterna del modelo enfocado a este perfil. Conclusiones: Este estudio dio evidencia de la viabilidad para apoyar a los docentes médicos al diseñar materiales digitales educativos mediante un modelo instruccional, que promueve el razonamiento clínico en los estudiantes de Medicina durante la etapa pregrado.
Este artículo reporta los hallazgos de insertar el diario de campo como apoyo al proceso formativo en diseño de información (DI) en estudiantes de diseño gráfico (DG). En ese sentido, por medio de un estudio cualitativo de investigación acción (IA) participativa, y definiendo categorías para analizar, se ha evaluado el impacto formativo de un recopilado de diarios de campo realizados por estudiantes de diseño gráfico cuando abordan la resolución de proyectos de diseño de información. El diario de campo es una herramienta formativa que permite al estudiante aprender significativamente sobre el diseño de información, además de que promueve la reflexión, hace visible el proceso de trabajo y de pensamiento de los procesos de diseño que siguen los estudiantes, registra las emociones que intervienen al hacer los proyectos y ayuda a formar el pensamiento de diseño de información. Son muy pocos los reportes que hablan sobre la inserción del diario de campo en la enseñanza y práctica del diseño de información, por lo que este estudio espera ampliar la discusión del tema y contribuir a revalorizar esta herramienta. Dado que éste se trata un estudio interpretativo, es necesario extenderlo para incluir mayor población y poder hacer comparativas para ampliar sus alcances.
Este artículo busca validar un nuevo modelo de diseño de infografías, que conjunta el diseño de información con la etnografía. El diario de campo permite recolectar la experiencia de diseñadoras gráficas que han seguido el modelo Alicia para diseñar infografías científicas. Mediante la investigación-acción participativa y el design ethnography, los diarios son una autoetnografía colaborativa con una narrativa, y estableciendo categorias cualitativas, se han interpretado los diarios. Se tienen resultados positivos sobre la eficacia del modelo Alicia, que facilita la experiencia del diseño de infografías, y permite la maduración del pensamiento de diseño en practicantes que hacen infografía científica.
Mediante una serie de pruebas de diagnóstico, usando una metodología cualitativa a partir de la investigación-acción y los principios del Modelo Universitario Minerva (MUM), se implementaron estrategias de enseñanza en visualización de datos y diseño de información para fortalecer la práctica de estudiantes de diseño gráfico que están iniciando su formación. Este es un primer acercamiento para medir cómo abordar el proceso de enseñanza y generar un plan de acción a largo plazo. La evidencia indica que los estudiantes tuvieron dificultades en escoger el tipo de visualización adecuada para el problema que se les plantea, porque confunden la función de cada tipo de gráfico. Se concluye que el camino está en replantear los contenidos de la asignatura estudiada, enfocando la enseñanza en las propiedades y ventajas que cada tipo de gráfico ofrece, de manera que los estudiantes se apropien de los conceptos estadísticos y de visualización.
En este artículo se reporta la experiencia de abordar el diseño de infografías científicas a través de una perspectiva multidisciplinaria, al implementar un modelo de trabajo en desarrollo basado en el diseño de información. Se trata de un proyecto de investigación en curso en el que se involucra a estudiantes de diversas disciplinas con énfasis en la formación integral de diseñadores gráficos. Se eligió trabajar una investigación cualitativa experimental que involucra a docentes y estudiantes mediante estrategias etnográficas para recolectar información durante el proceso de trabajo multidisciplinario. El modelo Alicia todavía está en desarrollo, pero ha dado evidencia de contribuir a la práctica del diseño al lograr generar un proceso de comunicación de la ciencia a través de infografías científicas para organizar procesos complejos cuando trabajan multidisciplinariamente profesionistas con diversos trasfondos. Mediante un proceso modular, guiado por los principios del diseño de la información, el modelo Alicia ha demostrado eficiencia al facilitar la interacción multidisciplinar, manteniendo la autonomía de las diferentes profesiones, mientras que el conjunto de interacciones va retroalimentando a todos los actores involucrados en el diseño de infografías científicas.
