In order to evaluate the use of controlled-release fertilizer in the production and quality of Acacia mangium seedlings, this experiment was conducted in randomized blocks, and treatments consisted of five levels (0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10.0 kg m-3 of substrate) of Osmocote Plus in six replicates. After 130 days of sowing, the production and quality variables of Acacia seedlings were analyzed. All production and quality variables, height/shoot ratio (HSH) and Dickson quality index (DQI) were influenced by the fertilizer doses. The greatest mean values of stem diameter, total height, shoot dry mass, root dry mass, the best HSH and the highest DQI, were obtained for doses ranging from 7.1 to 7.8 kg m-3 of substrate. The largest leaf area was obtained using a dose of 9.3 kg m-3 of substrate.
Este estudo foi realizado em um plantio hibrido clonal de Eucalyptus grandis x Eucalyptus urophylla, clone AEC 1528 (Super Clone), da Arcelormittal com três anos de idade e espaçamento 3 x 2,5 m,provenientes de um plantio localizado na Fazenda Campo Bom pertencente ao Grupo FCB Empresas Ltda situada, em Chapadão do Sul – MS. O objetivo do presente estudo foi testar modelos hipsométricos e analisar as estatísticas de ajuste e precisão a fim de selecionar a melhor equação para a obtenção da variável altura total. No total foram ajustados nove modelos hipsométricos, sendo estes os mais usuais no meio florestal. A base de dados foi obtida por meio de 51 parcelas de 420 m² cada (20m x 21m), de forma permanente em uma área total de 70,3 hectares de floresta plantada do Super Clone, onde foram medidos os diâmetros a 1,30m do solo (DAP) de todas as árvores que compunham cada parcela, mediu-se também a altura das 15 primeiras árvores em cada parcela, mais a altura das cinco árvores dominantes pelo principio de Assmann, visando à obtenção da altura total.As equações selecionadas foram avaliadas com base nos seguintes critérios para sua seleção: Coeficiente de Determinação Ajustado (R².ajust.), Erro Padrão da Estimativa (Syx), e Gráfico de Resíduos. Os resultados apontaram uma ligeira superioridade no modelo de Curtis para estimativa da altura total.
