No processamento de rochas em marmorarias, é utilizada grande quantidade de água, assim, vê-se a necessidade de encontrar técnicas de reuso para este efluente gerado nas indústrias. Este trabalho analisa a viabilidade do uso de microfiltração como pós tratamento da decantação para o reuso do efluente de uma indústria de mármores do interior do Rio Grande do Sul. O sistema formado de membrana fibra oca utilizada com diferentes pressões e tempo de detenção hidráulica e do fluxo de permeado utilizando ou não a retrolavagem. Foram monitorados turbidez, cor, sólidos suspensos totais, sólidos sedimentáveis, DQO e pH. O aumento da pressão aumentou o fluxo de permeado, mas compactou mais resíduo na membrana, a diferença de tempo de TDH foi determinante para o aumento de fluxo de permeado, tornando o processo viável. O processo de microfiltração associado à uma decantação eficiente produz permeado de qualidade, que pode ser utilizado industrialmente.
Os novos conceitos de Economia Circular (EC) e as mudanças na matriz energética mundial impulsionam o consumo de biomassa como uma fonte alternativa para a produção de energia. Neste contexto, o cavaco de eucalipto (Eucalyptus) é uma fonte de biomassa promissora. A queima desta biomassa produz como resíduo as cinzas, que precisam ser dispostas adequadamente ou valorizadas para diminuir os impactos ambientais e econômicos deste resíduo. Este artigo de revisão tem como objetivo discutir a valorização das cinzas de biomassa de caldeira industrial com foco na produção de alcalinizante. A valorização deste resíduo tem se dado de diferentes formas, sendo o uso das propriedades alcalinizantes para a correção de solos como a mais comum dentro das práticas industriais de gerenciamento de resíduos. Por um outro lado, a solubilização dos óxidos presentes nas cinzas e a utilização deste extrato como alcalinizante no tratamento de águas e efluentes pode ser uma alternativa aos alcalinizantes convencionais. Isto aumentaria as possibilidades de valorização das cinzas, diminuindo os impactos negativos dos processos de geração de energia. Os estudos e as condições para a produção do alcalinizante ainda não estão claras na literatura.
A produção em larga escala, como meta para o crescimento da economia global, aconteceu por longo período de tempo sem a devida atenção aos aspectos negativos que afetam diretamente toda a sociedade e o meio ambiente. Nas últimas décadas, o processo de degradação ambiental aumentou drasticamente, o crescimento econômico descontrolado causou danos ao ecossistema, decorrente da produção industrial. A gestão ambiental é uma das áreas mais importantes para alcançar o equilíbrio entre a produção industrial e a manutenção do meio ambiente. Trata-se de uma forma de gestão administrativa que privilegia métodos e práticas conducentes à utilização racional dos recursos naturais, minimizando assim os impactos das atividades econômicas e industriais no ambiente. Portanto, para que a indústria continue sendo fonte de trabalho e bem-estar, ela precisará estar mais comprometida com a disponibilidade de matéria-prima, atuar de forma mais responsável no uso de água e energia e investir em tecnologias de armazenamento, processamento e armazenamento. Uma ferramenta capaz de atender todas essas especificações e que pode ser utilizada na indústria é a P + L (Produção Mais Limpa), que nada mais é do que a implementação de estratégias ambientais preventivas, e integrando-as aos processos e produtos. Assim,este trabalho traz uma revisão sobre os impactos causados pela atividade industrial e como a implementação da ferramenta P + L pode minimizar esse problema, uma vez que, a execução da mesma traz inúmeras vantagens para a empresa, cliente e sociedade.
Devido à crescente preocupação com a questão ambiental, algumas técnicas vêm sendo desenvolvidas com o intuito de avaliar os aspectos e impactos ambientais associados aos produtos. Dentre estas técnicas, nota-se um destaque para a Avaliação de Ciclo de Vida (ACV), que abrange todas as etapas do ciclo de vida do produto, desde a retirada da matéria-prima na natureza até a disposição do produto final. Com isso, estametodologia apresenta um grande potencial de aplicação na indústria para acompanhamento do ciclo de vida do produto. Contudo, a aplicação desta metodologia na indústria é recente, e ainda está em processo de aperfeiçoamento. Desta forma, este estudo tem como objetivo discutir a aplicação e utilização da ACV no ambiente industrial. Para isso foi realizada uma pesquisa básica, de caráter exploratório, onde foi discorrido sobre alguns conceitos relacionado a ACV, as etapas para sua aplicação na indústria e os benefícios elimitações da ACV no setor industrial. Percebeu-se no estudo que, apesar da complexidade que a aplicação da ACV possa ter no setor industrial, está é uma boa opção para o acompanhamento das questões ambientais relacionadas aos produtos, e pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável.
