Die Temperaturabhängigkeit der Dissoziationskonstante von Natriumtetraphenylborat (NaBPh4) in zyklischen Äthern weist auf das Vorliegen von zwei Arten von Ionenpaaren hin. Es wird eine thermodynamische Behandlung dieses Phänomens vorgeschlagen, bei welcher die Enthalpie‐ und die Entropiedifferenz zwischen den beiden Formen des Ionenpaares und die entsprechenden Größen für die Dissoziation getrennt bestimmt werden. Die freie Enthalpie der Dissoziation des solvatgetrennten Ionenpaares ist in einem Temperaturbereich von 85 grd umgekehrt proportional der Dielektrizitätskonstante. Aus ihr ergibt sich nach Denison und Ramsey der Abstand der lonen im solvatgetrennten Ionenpaar als temperaturunabhängige Größe.
