Un experimento fue llevado a cabo con el objetivo de evaluar el uso de la harina de vísceras de pollo (HVP) en reemplazo de la harina de pescado (HP) para el engorde de codornices machos, desde los 21 a 49 días de edad. Se utilizaron 120 codornices machos de 21 días de edad para evaluar cuatro tratamientos: T1 (0% HVP + 10 % HP), T2 (3.5% HVP + 6.5 % HP), T3 (7% HVP + 3 % HP) y T4 (10% HVP + 0 % HP). Los resultados del experimento no mostraron diferencias significativas en peso corporal, ganancia de peso, consumo de alimento, conversión alimenticia, y rendimiento de carcasa. Al análisis de la retribución económica del alimento se determinó que el tratamiento con 7 % de harina de vísceras de pollo y 3% de harina de pescado (T-3) fue el más eficiente seguido por los tratamientos T4, T2 y T1. Se concluye que la harina de vísceras de pollo puede ser usada al 10 % en lugar de harina de pescado como fuente de proteína animal en dietas de engorde de la codorniz japonesa.
El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en el Banco Nacional de Semen y la Unidad Experimental de Avicultura de la Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. Los objetivos de este estudio fueron evaluar comparativamente al ácido ascórbico y tocoferol sobre la fertilidad del semen refrigerado a 5°C de gallo. Se utilizaron 28 gallinas reproductoras de postura de 25 semanas de edad de las líneas Hy Line Brown y 6 gallos cruzados adultos de 30 meses de edad. Se establecieron 4 tratamientos designados como: T1 (ClNa al 1%, control), T2 (ácido ascórbico 200µg/ml), T3 (tocoferol 8µg/ml) y T4 (tocoferol 8µg/ml + ácido ascórbico 200µg/ml) diluidos en una proporción de 1:1 a una temperatura de 38°C y luego refrigerado a 5°C. La colección de semen fue de 3 veces por semana. La inseminación artificial fue vía vaginal con una jeringa de tuberculina modificada a una profundidad de 3 cm aproximadamente, con una dosis de 0.01 ml por gallina con 100 millones de espermatozoides y una frecuencia de inseminación de una vez por semana. Los huevos seleccionados por tratamiento fueron incubados para determinar la fertilidad (aquellos que presentaron el blastodisco germinal), incubabilidad y natalidad. Se utilizó un diseño completamente al azar y prueba de comparación de medias Duncan. Los mejores resultados para motilidad (69%), fertilidad (76.3%) se obtuvieron cuando en la dilución de semen se adicionó conjuntamente el tocoferol con el ácido ascórbico, siendo altamente significativo a los demás tratamientos utilizados. El mayor porcentaje de incubabilidad fue de 81.70% con el uso conjunto del ácido ascórbico y tocoferol en la dilución de semen. En natalidad, el mayor porcentaje se logró con la adición solamente de ácido ascórbico en la dilución de semen; sin embargo, estos resultados no son estadísticamente significativos entre tratamientos. Concluyéndose que el uso conjunto de tocoferol y ácido ascórbico en la dilución de semen, mantienen la motilidad espermática post refrigeración a 5°C dando mayores porcentajes de fertilidad, mas no en la incubabilidad debido a factores externos como la incubación propiamente dicha; sin embargo se pueden utilizar como componentes de un dilutor de semen de gallos para la inseminación artificial de gallinas ponedoras.
Un estudio fue realizado con el objetivo de evaluar el uso del sistema de ventilación forzada por presión positiva, en la producción de pollos de carne en Chanchamayo. Se utilizaron 10,800 pollos machos (1.38 Kg. y 28 días de edad) para evaluar dos tratamientos: el sistema de ventilación natural y la ventilación forzada por presión positiva. El sistema de ventilación forzada por presión positiva mejoró significativamente el control de la humedad, la velocidad del viento y la sensación térmica; sin embargo, no hubo resultados significativos para el control de la temperatura. A los 42 días de edad, el uso de la ventilación positiva mejoró significativamente la producción de carne por área, consumo de alimento, conversión alimenticia y el índice de eficiencia productiva. Asimismo, el tratamiento con ventilación forzada resultó en una menor humedad de cama, menor mortalidad y mayor retribución económica en comparación con la ventilación natural. Los resultados demuestran que la aplicación de un sistema de ventilación forzada por presión positiva tuvo efectos positivos en la producción de pollos de carne.
Un experimento fue llevado a cabo con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de la adición de dos complejos enzimáticos a dietas de codornices reproductoras. 135 codornices japonesas (90 hembras y 45 machos) fueron asignadas durante 56 días en 3 tratamientos: T-1 (Control), T-2 (con adición de celulasa y proteasa) y T-3 (con adición de amilasa, xilanasa y proteasa). Los resultados del experimento no mostraron diferencias significativas entre tratamientos en producción de huevos, masa de huevo, peso de huevo, consumo de alimento, conversión alimenticia, fertilidad, incubabilidad, natalidad y peso de codorniz BB. Al análisis de la retribución económica del alimento se determinó que la mayor eficiencia la obtuvo el tratamiento 1, sin suplementación de enzimas.
