Es geht daraus hervor, dab das Ammoniak eine Schutzwirkung gegenfiber dem Flockungsbestreben der Elektrolyte ausfibt. DieAnschauung, dab die Stabilisierung yon Solen durch Ammoniak gegen die Einwirkung von Elektrolyten vonder Adsorption des Ammoniaks an den Teilchen herrfihrt, wird best~itigt durch die Versuche mit groben Suspensionen, wo gezeigt wurde, dab Ammoniak dutch ganz verschiedenartige Teilchen adsorbiert und die Suspensionen dadurch stabiler werden, sowohl in Qegenwart als auch in Abwesenheit yon Elektrolyten. Man kann also mit Grund annehmen, dab die vergleichbare Schutzwirkung bei Solteilchen dieselbe Ursache hat, wenn es auch vorl~iufig noch nicht klar ist, in welcher Weise das adsorbierte Ammoniak wirkt. Zusammenfassung. 1. Ammoniak in kleinen Konzentrationen stabilisiert negative Sole von sehr verschiedener Konstitution gegenfiber der F~llung durch Elektrolyte. 2. In h6heren Konzentrationen unterstfitzt Ammoniak die F~illung. 3. Der Schutzwirkung geht eine Verminderung der Koagulationsgeschwindigkeit parallel. 4. Die Wirkung des Ammoniaks rfihrt nicht yon chemischer Einwirkung auf die Teilchen, sondern von Adsorption an ihrer Oberfl~iche her. 5. Die Wirkung des Ammoniaks auf grobe Suspensionen ist ~ihnlich der auf Sole; bei diesen Suspensionen findet ganz deutlich Adsorption statt und gleichzeitig damit Stabilisierung gegen die P~illung dutch Elektrolyte.
