They are all based on the thermal effect of the infrared radiation (bolometerprinciple, principle of spatial difference, thermopile and principle of temporal difference). For the project design of research the mentioned principles are suited only with restrictions. Therefore a new sensor was developed, which consists of two identical receivers, which, mounted in a common case, differ only in the grade of absorption. The measure for the radiations in this case is the difference in temperature of the two receiver surfaces. By this way of construction even the measurement of high intensities (over 10000 W/m 2 ) is possible. Further the negative influences on the measurement by increased air temperatures and convection could be reduced to a minimum.
