Put forward is the method of usage of Arc GIS 10 software product for epidemiological surveillance over brucellosis in the Stavropol region (SR). Designed is the structure of databases on epidemiology and epizootiology of brucellosis in the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. Constructed are two databases (Epidemiology of brucellosis in the SR and Epizootiology of brucellosis in the SR) compatible with Arc GIS 10. Carried out is the zoning of the SR territories based on assessment of the risk of infecting with brucellosis, using Arc GIS computer program.
The paper presents an overview of the state of the Art on the current medical, biological, and social risks. They determine the current epidemiological situation for a number of infectious diseases with different mechanisms of pathogen transmission. The risks of multi-country outbreaks and cross-border drift of pathogens are shown. The authors provide a number of recommendations to improve the training of health professionals on the control of modern threats of an epidemiological nature.
Abstract. Food industry stirs close interest of researches due to the extension and deepening of the problems of ecologic, microbiologic, epidemiologic safety of food industry and intake, determined by many social, anthropogenic and natural factors: change of human food ration; world economy globalization and, in particular, food market due to the penetration of pathogens, toxins into the new territories; adaptation of pathogenic agents to food storage conditions and new factors of transmission and other reasons. As a result, food-borne diseases significantly determine the increase of infectious and non-infectious pathologies in the world, including economically developed countries. The paper presents the data on the existing systems of catering risk control, current data on the role of some food pathogens in alimentary outbreaks, offers measures to increase food safety in the Russian Federation on both national and federal levels in terms of its membership in World Trade Organization.
Sustainable growth of touristic economy sector in the Republic of Dagestan exposes the need for well-timed and adequate response to epidemic and ecological hazards. In this connection investigated have been several peculiarities specific to economic activity and medical services of the republic, which precondition a threat to epidemiological welfare of the population and make possible dissemination of infections over the boundaries of republic's natural foci.
The first half of this century will undoubtedly be a turning point in a new understanding of the problems of interdependence of non-infectious human pathology and infectious diseases, the image and quality of life of the individual and society as a whole, the system of organization of medical care to the population. For a fairly short time by historical standards, the priority for the population of developed countries was the consumer type of behavior, including in relation to their own health, when the “fashion” for certain diets, forms of leisure, lifestyle appeared and disappeared (including tourism is often with a disdainful attitude of travelers to possible consequences for their own health)– and all this against a relatively prosperous epidemiological background in conditions of unsystematic consumption of information, the growing need to stimulate physical strength and psychological state with pharmacological drugs, non-alcoholic tonic drinks, new forms of tobacco smoking and other harmful methods. However, due to the global incidence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) The World Health Organization (WHO) and national States have reconfigured medical care systems to high-tech personalized medicine without taking into account epidemiological risks, with the exception of alertness about infections associated with the provision of medical care to patients. Predictors of a sudden exacerbation of the epidemiological situation in the national and global scientific and practical health agenda remained, as a rule, mainly in the discussion field of specialists in the field of infectious diseases — infectious disease specialists, epidemiologists, bacteriologists, molecular biologists. The sudden and rapidly spreading coronavirus infection COVID-19 with a rapid transition to a pandemic forced us to reconsider priorities in the personal and public life of the inhabitants of the planet, in the organization of medical and sanitary services, in the relationship between man and the state, as well as radically modify and transform the market of health tourism. The formation of a forecast regarding the future contours, development trends and the content of health tourism is an urgent task in connection with the unprecedented pressure of the pandemic on public health, on the tourist market in general and on its individual types and directions associated with medicine, in particular.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
