Bottger (Mit 52 Abbildungen) Inhaltsiibersich t An Wismutbolometern, hergestellt durch Metallverdampfung im Hochvakuum und Kondensation des Wismutdampfes auf Zelluloidhautchen, wurden rnit dem Tragerfrequenzverfahren unter Benutzung eines Kathodenstrahloszillographen als Anzeigeinstrument Messungen ausgefuhrt. Die Bestrahlung der Bolometer, in ungeschwarztem und beruotem Zustand, erfolgte mit Gleich-und Wechsellicht, und zwar mit Rechteckimpulsen, die durch Rotation von Blenden vor einem engen Spalt entstanden. Auch der Verlauf einer einmaligen kurzzeitigen Bestrahlung bei verschieden langen Lichtblitzen wurde untersucht. Die Messungen geben die Amplituden des Oszillographenstrahles (MeBausschlag) in Abhangigkeit von der Dicke der (Zelluloid-)Tragerfolien und der Wismutschicht, von dem Druck des das Bolometer umgebenden Gases und von der Frequenz des Wechsellichtes fur Bolometer mit blanken und geschwarzten Oberflachen an. Die fur die Zeitkonstante gefundenen Abhangigkeiten vom Gasdruck, Tragerfoliendicke und Metallschichtdicke lassen sich theoretisch verstandlich machen. Die Absolutempfindlichkeit des Wismutbolometers der benutzten Bauart wird mit der anderer Strahlungsempfanger verglichen.
I. Allgemeine theoretische Grundlagen
A. Energiebilanz am BolometerEin Bolometer wird durch Strahlun.gsabsorption um den Temperaturbetrag AT erwarmt und dadurch sein elektrischer Widerstand verandert. Diese Widerstandsanderung kann als Ma13 der einfallenden Strahlung in einer Briickenschaltung gemessen werdeu. InhaltsiibersichtDie Ergebnisse der Messungen, (Empfindlichkeit, Zeitkonstante, Vakuumfaktor) an Thermoelementen der Bauart Ag/Te/Ag, Cu/Te/Cu, Bi/Te/Bi (auch Bi/Sb/Bi) und Ag/(Te+ Ag)/Ag, Bi/(Te+ Bi)/Bi, Sb/(Te + Sb)/Sb, Bi/(Te + Sb)/Bi, Sb/(Te + Bi)/Sb werden mitgeteilt. Als besondere Erscheinungen treten die storende Diffusion des Silbers in das Tellur und die Umkehrung des Vorzeichens am Element Ag/(Te + Ag)/Ag auf. ~_ _ ~ A. Fragestellung Die Untersuchungen, iiber die nachfolgend berichtet wird, liegen fast zehn Jahre (194S1944) zuriick und beschaftigen sich mit Thermoelementen, die durch Verdampfen von zwei verschiedenen Metallen im Hochvakuum und Kondensation auf eine diinne Zelluloidfolie hergestel!t waren. AuDer den iiblichen Thermoelementen mit Antimon und Wismut wurde besonders das Element Silber/Tellur/ Silber bzw. Silber/Tellur + Silber (Silbertellurid ?)/Silber untersucht. Die Verwendung von Tellur fiihrte zur Beobachtung der Diffusion von Silber in das Tellur Iiinein, a n die sich eingehendere Untersuchungen dieser Erscheinung anschlossen und iiber deren Ergebnisse weitere Rlitteilungen in Vorbereitung sind. Fur den Rau von Thermoelementen hat der Verlauf des Diffusionsvorganges und dessen Geset,zmarJigkeit nur insofern Bedeutung, als es notwendig ist, die Zerstorung des Elementes durch diese Erscheinung zu verhindern. Die nachfolgenden Ausfiihrungen bringen einen Beitrag zur Gro5e der Empfindlichkeit und Tragheit von Thermoelementen insbesondere der Zusammenstellung Ag/(Ag + Te)/Ag. Die Ergebnisse werden erst jetzt veroffentlicht, nachdern weitere Untersuchungen Klarheit uber einige eigenartige Beobachtungen gebrach t liaben.
B. Versuchsanordnungon
