The authors describe the technique of a transantral transsphenoidal approach to the sella turcica. The advantages and potential complications are discussed. This procedure may also be applicable when dealing with tumors of the skull base and orbits.

The animal was killed and the brain removed and placed in sterile buffered glycerin solution. For the next few days guinea pig 6 appeared to be recovering, but by the end of another week it became apparent that this was not the case. The animal was then killed and the brain stored in buffered glycerin.
