The effect of using fermented purple yam leaves pellet (Ipomoea batatas var. Ayamurasaki) by effective microorganism 4 (em-4) in the ration on performance of broiler chicken
This research has been conducted in Naikoten 1, Kota Raja, Kupang city or 3 months. The purpose of this research was to investigate the performance of growth and heritability value from mating group between Local rooster and Isa Brown laying hen. The method used in this research is experimental method. The experimental design used was Complete Randomized Design (CRD) of three treatments in the form of three types of rooster and three replications. The treatment is Saras = Sabu >< Isa Brown, Bakoras = Bangkok >< Isa Brown, Leguras = Leher Gundul >< Isa Brown. The variables measured are hatching weight, body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion, carcass weight, abdominal fat percentage and heritability value of the parameter. The results indicated that the average of cross breed showed excellent growth performance and there is an indication of heterosis effect. The highest heritability value found at carcass weight parameter and hatch weight parameter. Based on the result, it could be concluded that the best growth performance is cross with Bangkok rooster. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Naikoten I, Kecamatan Kota Raja, Kota Kupang selama 3 (tiga) bulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa pertumbuhan dan besarnya nilai heritabilitas dari kelompok ayam hasil persilangan, antara ayam pejantan lokal dan ayam betina ras petelur jenis Isa Brown. Metode percobaan eksperimental merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari tiga perlakuan yang berupa tiga jenis ayam jantan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan yang dimaksud adalah Saras = Sabu >< Isa Brown, Bakoras = Bangkok >< Isa Brown, Leguras = Leher Gundul >< Isa Brown. Variabel yang diukur antara bobot tetas, bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konversi ransum, bobot karkas, persentase lemak abdominal dan nilai heritabilitas dari parameter tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata ayam hasil persilangan menunjukkan performa pertumbuhan yang sangat baik dan ada indikasi terjadinya efek heterosis. Nilai heritabilitas tertinggi terdapat pada parameter bobot karkas dan bobot tetas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa performa pertumbuhan terbaik terdapat pada kelompok persilangan dengan pejantan Bangkok.Kata kunci: Persilangan, performa pertumbuhan, heritabilitas.
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of fermented gamal leaf flour as a substitute for concentrate in the basal ration on the performance of landrace crossbreed pigs. The materials used in this study were 16 landrace crossbred male pigs at the starter phase aged 1–2 months, with an average of 7.56 kg and KV of 40.68%. The design was a randomized block design with four treatments and four replications. The treatments were R0: basal ration + 100 concentrate without fermented gamal leaf meal (FGLF), R1: basal ration + 90% concentrate + FGLF 10%, R2: basal ration + 80% concentrate + FGLF 20%, R3: basal ration + 70% concentrate + 30% FGLF. The results of variance showed that the use of fermented gamal leaf flour (FGLF) as a substitute for concentrate in the basal ration of landrace crossbreed pigs had no significant effect (P>0.05) on performance. This study concluded that using fermented gamal leaf flour as a substitute for concentrate in basal rations in landrace crossbreed pigs gave relatively the same results up to 30%.
The objectives of this research was to study the effect and level of using purslane flour (Portulaca oleracea L) which was substituted in broiler feed to performance, had been done in chicken coop owned by National Animal Husbandry Training Centre Kupang. The experimental used was Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with 4 (four) treatments, 5 (five) blocks and 5 (five) replications, each replication consist of 5 (five) broilers, so the total of the broiler were 100 heads. The treatments were Kr0 = commercial feed without purslane flour, Kr5= commercial feed contained 5% purslane flour, Kr10= commercial feed contained 10% purslane flour and Kr15= commercial feed contained 15% purslane flour. Parameters measured were feed intake (dry matter, crude protein, and crude fiber), weight gain, feed conversion and weight of abdominal fat. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of the study showed that the use of purslane flour in broiler feed had a very significant effect (P<0.01) to feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion but had no significant effect (P>0.05) to weight of abdominal fat. The use of purslane flour in broiler feed up to 15% does not improve performance of broiler.Key words: broiler, purslane flour, performance. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruh dan level penggunaan tepung krokot (Portulaca oleracea L) yang disubtitusi dalam ransum ayam broiler terhadap performans, telah dilakukan di kandang ayam milik Balai Besar Pelatihan Peternakan Kupang. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Berblok (RAL B) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, 5 blok dan 5 ulangan dengan masing-masing ulangan sebanyak 5 ekor sehingga total ayam adalah 100 ekor. Perlakuan tersebut yaitu Kr0= Ransum komersial tanpa tepung krokot, Kr5= Ransum komersial yang mengandung 5% tepung krokot, Kr10= Ransum komersial yang mengandung 10% tepung krokot dan Kr15= Ransum komersial yang mengandung 15% tepung krokot. Parameter yang diukur adalah konsumsi (bahan kering, protein kasar dan serat kasar), pertambahan berat badan, konversi ransum dan berat lemak abdomen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung krokot dalam ransum berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap berat lemak abdomen. Penggunaan krokot dalam ransum hingga level 15% tidak memperbaiki performans ayam broiler.
