Esta investigación analiza el contexto de la gestión del conocimiento en las instituciones de educación superior (IES) en América Latina, tomando como caso de estudio a Ecuador y Colombia, y propone un modelo estratégico, basado en la administración del talento humano y la gestión de calidad, para que la gestión del conocimiento (GC) en estas instituciones contribuya de manera eficaz, eficiente y efectiva a mejorar la calidad de la educación superior y con ello su aporte al desarrollo regional.
Con el ánimo de impulsar la misión social de la educación superior, esta investigación tiene un enfoque cualitativo, y tiene como objetivo estudiar el contexto normativo y los principales referentes teóricos para mejorar continuamente la calidad de la educación superior en Colombia y Ecuador, y propone estrategias metodológicas que contribuyan a realizar dicho propósito como aporte al desarrollo regional, de manera sistémica, objetiva, medible y alcanzable en el tiempo, tales como la gestión por procesos y el cuadro de mando integral.
Aiming to promote the social mission of higher education and their integration in Latin American countries, this research has a qualitative focus and it has the objective to study the normative context and the main theoretical references for the assurance of the quality of higher education for Colombia and Ecuador, examines how the continuous improvement of higher education contributes to regional development; and proposes methodological strategies that contribute to the purpose for the regional development, in a systemic, objective, measurable and achievable in time way, like are the process management and the balanced score card for University Management Strategies and to built a public policy for Latin American Universities.
