The healthcare industry has become a paramount concern for most people in Ghana and the quality of services rendered to the patients in the private hospitals cannot be overemphasized. Patients need quality of services most and are willing to seek better services. The government has been the main provider of health care services in Ghana but recently, some Non-Governmental Organization's (NGO's), private individuals and stakeholders also provide health care services which has surged the competitiveness in creating more healthcare facilities in Ghana. This study seeks to explore patients' choice of selecting quality healthcare services and the factors that affect patient satisfaction in private hospitals using the case of Comboni Hospital in Sogakope, Ghana. The study therefore used the quantitative research method to collect the data and SPSS version 22 was used to analyze the data on high-quality healthcare. The SERVQUAL model was used as the measurement scale. Multiple regression analysis was used to reveal the effect of the independent variables (reliability, responsiveness, empathy, assurance, and tangibility) on the dependent variable (patient satisfaction). A detailed description in the analysis and the data processing identified the main factors affecting the general perceptions and patient preferences about their healthcare in the private hospital. The study revealed that there exist a positive result and perception for quality healthcare services without a negative expectation of the patient healthcare being compromised. The study recommends that both the government and the private agencies should consider the important aspects of the hospital's healthcare management and also the policy and decision makers should have an efficient and effective standard that impact the quality of healthcare assessment in Ghana.

The key element of human rights and the road to equity and dignity of women and children is the quality of care received. The provision of maternal health care is based on quality during pregnancy, and distinctly forty-eight hours after delivery, is an important contribution to saving women’s lives and preventing disabilities (Quah, 2016). Thus, the understanding of women's experiences and expectations through the continuum of prenatal care, delivery care and postnatal care is important for assessing the quality of maternal health care and the determination of problem areas requiring improvement. Women's satisfaction reflects women's judgment of various aspects of maternal health care, including organizational and interpersonal aspects. Multiple linear regression was used (IBM SPSS v.25) to test the main hypotheses for the present study. The ordinal regression was used to predict the value of a result variable (dependent variable) based on the value of two or more prediction variables (independent variables). This study identifies the relationship between maternal health services (prenatal & diagnostic care, delivery care and postnatal care) and women's satisfaction with the moderating role of doctor's behavior. The study finally determined the positive impact of health care services on women's satisfaction. The results also show that the doctor's behavior in health care services affect women's satisfaction and so, the alternate hypotheses are accepted. In this study, physicians were encouraged to give pregnant women thorough inspection and examination, treat them with courtesy and respect. The study also showed that, the government should focus on hiring additional employees to overcome workload.

A woman's vulnerability is never greater than during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. Quality healthcare delivery rest on actual interactions between patients and providers. Empathy has been acknowledged as a crucial component of patient care, benefiting both patients and medical staff. The patient-centered approach is considered an effective strategy to deliver successful patient care when healthcare professionals are more sensitive and attentive to the requirements of patients. Empathy means sharing another person's feelings and showing kindness to alleviate their misery or anguish. It is widely acknowledged as the essential component of nursing and midwifery care and regarded as the component of quality care. However, because it varies from practitioner to practitioner and from patient to patient, it is difficult to understand how compassion presents itself in the delivery of treatment. Midwives' compassionate attitudes and actions have a direct impact on obstetric outcomes. Even though scholars are studying the concept of empathy in nursing, little is known about what empathy in midwifery entails and how patients see it. Many advantages for patient communication, patient satisfaction, and treatment adherence are linked to healthcare professionals' empathy. This paper aims to examine the works of literature on the concept of empathy and highlight how crucial it is to provide care in the context of maternal healthcare.
