As tecnologias digitais da informação e comunicação (TDIC) assumem papel relevante como recursos de ensino dos conteúdos curriculares. O docente é motivado a fazer o uso de diversas tecnologias dentro e fora de sala de aula, tais como softwares e interfaces da internet, dentre outros para tornar a aula mais interessante ao estudante, além do desejo dos docentes em mudar a dinâmica de suas aulas. Docentes têm recorrido ao uso de metodologias ativas como estudos de caso, aula-laboratório, trabalhos em grupos, simulações, Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas ou Problem Based Learning (PBL), nas quais o estudante participa ativamente do processo de aprendizagem e o docente realiza sondagem de conhecimentos prévios do estudante, problematização, contextualização e aplicação prática dos conhecimentos. A intenção é tornar as aulas mais próximas da realidade do estudante, tornando-o ser ativo em sua aprendizagem. Neste artigo exploramos a importância do uso das TDIC com PBL, através de duas sequências didáticas em sala de aula no ensino superior: a primeira utilizando o software Unity 3D que envolve a resolução de um problema, a construção de um jogo didático para ajudar a assimilação de determinado conhecimento, utilizada via grupo de estudo no WhatsApp de curso de Sistema de Informação de uma universidade federal do Nordeste, no qual participam a docente e estudantes; a segunda fez uso do aplicativo Socrative e utilizou a metodologia PBL aplicada a ele, bem como o uso da ferramenta e-mail para obter feedback dos participantes. O grupo da segunda sequencia didática era constituído por estudantes do 1º e 3º períodos do curso de Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas de um Instituto Federal do Sul do Brasil, totalizando 41 estudantes e o docente da disciplina. Com o objetivo de verificar a satisfação dos estudantes envolvidos nas duas sequências didáticas foi aplicado questionário a cerca da eficiência da metodologia PBL. Os resultados em diferentes cursos de diferentes instituições comprovaram a eficiência do uso da PBL independente da área de conhecimento abordada. Mostraram que a utilização da PBL aplicada a um grupo de estudantes que até o devido momento não haviam experimentado outras formas de ensino/aprendizagem ativas proporcionou uma melhor comunicação entre os estudantes, bem como conhecimento de ferramentas de interação durante as aulas. É fundamental a busca por conhecimentos e que tenham autonomia no processo de aprendizagem, características adquiridas com o uso da PBL. Constatamos que a PBL é uma metodologia interessante para se aplicar no ensino superior, tanto presencial quanto a distância. Apesar de necessitar melhor preparação por parte de docentes e tutores.
