Abstract: This article aims to analyze the discourses on the immovable historical heritage of Manaus, through the Casarões da Sete, an architectural complex, located on Avenida Sete de Setembro in the Centro district of the city of Manaus, restored in 1998 and demolished between the years 2008 and 2010, which are characterized as contradictory actions carried out by the State of Amazonas itself. Thus, we ask ourselves about which narratives guide the references and policies of heritage in the city of Manaus? We traced then, a contextualization of the conflicts around cultural assets through the modification of the surroundings of the properties and also discussed the legal issue towards the demolition. As a methodology, this case study is of a qualitative nature, having as prerogatives the context, interpretation and critical eye, counting on an interdisciplinary field of approach among the areas of knowledge that have as their theme the studies of cultural heritage
