Sebagian besar sampah yang dihasilkan oleh warga di wilayah Sumedang ialah berupa limbah organik. Melimpahnya limbah rumah tangga seperti nasi, limbah nabati, limbah hewani dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai solusi menumpuknya limbah rumah tangga. Potensi limbah organik dari kegiatan domestik merupakan salah satu sumber yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ikan. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini adalah agar masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan potensi limbah rumah tangga yang terdapat di sekitar wilayahnya sebagai bahan baku pakan ikan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini ialah penyuluhan berisi informasi dan demontrasi pemanfaatan limbah organik menjadi pakan ikan dengan teknik fermentasi yang diberikan oleh narasumber dari pihak akdemisi. Khalayak sasaran kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat di lokasi kegiatan yaitu Desa Gudang, Kecamatan Tanjungsari, Kabupaten Sumedang, khususnya Kelompok Perikanan Darat. Pihak-pihak yang mendukung pelaksanaan kegiatan ini diantaranya adalah oleh Rumah Edukasi Biomethagreen dan anggota masyarakat di lokasi tersebut. Penyuluhan tentang pembuatan pakan ikan sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat yang sehari-hari memiliki kegiatan pertanian dan peternakan ikan dan unggas dengan harapan mampu menekan jumlah limbah yang mencemari lingkungan dan memanfaatkan limbah rumah tangga sebagai pakan. Respon dan antusiasime yang baik diberikan para peserta di lokasi menjadi faktor yang mendorong kelancaran penyelenggaraan kegiatan ini. Masyarakat Desa Gudang yang memiliki potensi dalam melakukan kegiatan perikanan dan peternakan yang tinggi menjadikannya sebuah peluang untuk menyediakan pakan yang bersumber dari bahan baku limbah rumah tangga, tidak hanya untuk pakan ikan akan tetapi dapat dimanfaatkan juga untuk pakan ternak.
