4126), P (Strophen 27 und 28), R (Strophe 30) und sogar auch die jüngere Handschrift W (Strophe 29) als Leithandschrift; die jeweiligen Abweichungen von der Leithandschrift werden im Apparat gekennzeichnet. Die von der Herausgeberin gewählte Vorgehensweise, nämlich die Formen der Leithandschrift (in Gegensatz zu Stackmanns und Bertaus Frauenlob-Ausgabe) in das standardisierte Laut-und Orthographiesystem des Normalmittelhochdeutschen umzusetzen, scheint unter sprachlichem, formalem und inhaltlichem Aspekt die richtige Lösung zu sein.Für den Rezensenten ist es natürlich nahezu unmöglich zu beurteilen, ob alle textkritischen Entscheidungen, die Alex bei der Herstellung ihrer Edition getroffen hat, wirklich richtig sind. Stichproben haben mich jedoch davon überzeugt, daß Alex konsequent, sorgfältig und zuverlässig gearbeitet hat. Sehr informativ sind die Apparate, die einen genauen Überblick über die von der Herausgeberin getroffene Wahl bei der Textgestaltung bieten; diese Wahl kann auch durch die vollständige Abbildung der Überlieferung im Anhang kontrolliert werden.Die Übersetzung, die den mittelhochdeutschen Text begleitet, liefert eine treue Wiedergabe des Originals, wobei man jedoch manchmal das Gefühl hat, daß die Herausgeberin, die sich bei der Textgestaltung so große Mühe gegeben hat, bei der Übersetzung hier und da ein bißchen zu glatt arbeitet: So wird zum Beispiel in Spruch I 29 aus Vers 12 "mit kündicheit ez tilgen und vernichten" vereinfachend neuhochdeutsch "sie mit List zu töten" (S. 87). Obwohl Alex betont, daß unübersetzbare mittelhochdeutsche Begriffe in der neuhochdeutschen Übersetzung als mittelhochdeutsches Wort belassen und durch Kursivdruck kenntlich gemacht werden (S. 22), ist sie dabei nicht konsequent. So werden oft problematische Begriffe ohne Kursivdruck einfach mit ihren neuhochdeutschen Bedeutungen besetzt: milte (I 3,1) wird (kommentarlos) mit "Freigebigkeit" wiedergegeben (S. 35), triuwe (VIII 1,1) mit "Treue" (S. 119).Zum größten Teil handelt es sich im Kommentar um Erläuterungen von besonders komplizierten Wörtern, Verszeilen oder Versgruppen. Unklar bleibt jedoch, warum manchmal der Inhalt eines Spruchs knapp wiedergegeben oder kommentiert wird (z.B. zu I 30), bei anderen Sprüchen jedoch der Inhalt weder paraphrasiert noch näher erklärt wird (wie z.B. zu I 6). Die einführenden Kapitel dieses Buches, die die Gestaltung des Textes sehr ausführlich besprechen, besagen nicht, nach welchen Kriterien kommentiert wird. Wollte die Herausgeberin diese Sprüche auch interpretieren (oder wenigstens einen Ansatz zu ihrer Interpretation geben)? Wahrscheinlich war das gar nicht ihre Absicht (vgl. S. 4). Aber Alex hätte auch (wie ihr Lehrer Heinzle in seiner schönen Willehalm-Ausgabe) eine kurze Einführung zur Sinngebung der Spruchdichtung Boppes im Kommentar einfügen können. Damit wäre der Kommentar sicherlich vollkommener und -für Studenten -vielleicht verständlicher geworden.

Angelium Werdenhagen, welch er in seiner -, fürnehmlich deren praefation das Enthusiastische Gifft fortzupflanzen sich unterfangen/ zuforderst aber in dem gottlosen/schändlichen Büchlein: Offene Himmels-Pforte genannt ungescheuet geschrieben: Wer die Liebe übet/der sey ein guter Christ/ob er auch von Christo nichts wüste/und könne ihm diese-Unwissenheit an seiner Seligkeit nicht schaden ... (S. 809). Es wird eine Kommission eingesetzt, um die Frage der unerwünschten Buchdistribution zu klären, und man rückt Ottendorff mit vielen Fragen tüchtig auf den Leib: Warumb er dessen exemplaria nicht alle eingeliefert? Woher er sie bekommen? Ob er selber seinen Nahmen darunter gesetzet? Ob er auch ändern davon ausgetheilet? Wer ihn das carmen zu machen ersuchet hätte? Wo es gedruckt? Wie die Sterne/und Stempel darauf gekommen wären? u. s.w. (S. 810). Das Ministerium verlangt eine öffentliche deprecation, gibt sich aber dann doch mit einerprivat-Abbitte zufrieden (S. 8nf.). Hier treffen nicht nur Teting und Werdenhagen im persönlichen Kreis um Ottendorff zusammen, sondern hier wird vor allem Bezug genommen auf die Hoyers als ketzerische Autorin, wozu Ottendorf wohl mehr beigetragen hat als das libellum selber. Es handelt sich aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach um die bisher nicht näher identifizierte Ausgabe des Gesprächs von 1634, die Moller, zuverlässig wie immer, in Cimbria Literata II, S. 265 erwähnt und die Ph. J. Spener so begeistert gelesen hat, daß er 1698 eine Neubearbeitung vorlegte (vgl. Nachwon zur vorliegenden Ausgabe, S. 102ff.). Vielleicht könnte eine gezielte Bibliotheksumfrage mit Hilfe oben mitgeteilter Materialien die Ausgabe doch noch zutage fördern.
