Traduzido em 2014 pela ensaísta e crítica brasileira Bárbara Heliodora, a peça O Misantropo, escrita pelo ícone do teatro universal Molière, no ano de 1666, aborda aspectos do comportamento do século XVII de forma irônica. A peça narra a história de Alceste, cujo comportamento renega qualquer hipocrisia ou conveniência social pautada por bajulações. No entanto, Alceste é apaixonado por Célimène, moça cortejada por alguns rapazes, incluindo os marqueses Acaste e Clitandre. Com isso, o protagonista acaba enfrentando diversos problemas por conta de sua sinceridade sem limites, o que culmina em um processo executado por Oronte. A presente resenha de tradução propõe a análise de alguns aspectos da tradução elaborada pela renomada crítica Bárbara Heliodora. Para isso nos apoiaremos em uma edição de 1682, disponível no site “Tout Molière” que expõe, exclusivamente, as obras do teatrólogo francês. Focando o ritmo, a estrutura, bem como as escolhas da linguagem, exemplificarão através de trechos as peculiaridades presentes nas obras.
