A Vigorexia (VG) ou Síndrome de Adonis é um transtorno dismórfico corporal caracterizado pela insatisfação constante com o próprio corpo que promove a prática exacerbada de exercício e implicações clínicas nutricionais desfavoráveis para o portador. Dentro desse contexto, o objetivo da presente revisão bibliográfica, foi discutir as características associadas a condição e suas consequências nutricionais. Para tanto, foram utilizadas as bases de dados: Lilacs, Pubmed, Scielo e Google Acadêmico. Foram selecionados 21 artigos científicos publicados entre 2000 e 2017. A Síndrome de Adonis acomete principalmente homens de 18 a 25 anos praticantes de exercício. Sua prevalência ainda não é clara em função da carência de estudos brasileiros. A VG apresenta-se intrinsicamente relacionada aos padrões de beleza impostos e divulgados pelas mídias sociais. Suas implicações nutricionais podem ampliar os riscos de doenças crônicas. Nesse sentido, a presença de profissional habilitado é essencial para a identificação precoce da síndrome. Ainda que a VG não tenha sido catalogada como transtorno pelos manuais de classificação de doenças, é certamente uma das mais recentes enfermidades emocionais ligadas aos estereótipos de beleza social.
