O objetivo desse estudo foi levantar e analisar pesquisas sobre o comportamento psicótico com o referencial da Análise do Comportamento. Para isto, foram selecionados 25 artigos nos periódicos JEAB e JABA que tratavam do assunto. Estes foram analisados integralmente, considerando os seguintes critérios: o ano de publicação, objetivos das pesquisas, comportamentos-alvo, reforçadores utilizados, principais resultados, discussão e considerações finais. A década de 70 foi o período com maior publicação, sendo que a maioria dos estudos objetivava avaliar a efetividade dos princípios operantes ou modificar o comportamento do paciente. O comportamento alvo com maior incidência de estudo foi o verbal e os reforçadores condicionados foram os mais frequentemente utilizados. Apesar das inquestionáveis descobertas acerca do tema esquizofrenia e comportamento psicótico, a quantidade de pesquisas realizadas por analistas do comportamento e pulicadas nesses periódicos foi pequena frente ao que já foi produzido sobre o assunto nas últimas décadas. Discute-se a necessidade de uma produção mais intensa sobre o tema buscando avaliar a eficácia de intervenções relacionadas ao comportamento psicótico.
