RESUMOFrutos de palmeira macaúba (Acrocomia aculeata (Jacq.) Lodd.), são excelentes fontes de matéria prima para a indústria. Ultimamente com o problema da fome mundial e do meio ambiente, ela vem se destacando pelo seu grande potencial produtivo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as características biométricas de duas subespécies de macaúba (sclerocarpa e totai) coletadas em duas regiões (Paraná e Minas Gerais). Foram coletados 20 frutos de cada subespécies e analisado os aspectos biométricos, que foram massa do endocarpo, do fruto, mesocarpo, epicarpo e da amêndoa, diâmetro do fruto e da amêndoa, espessura do endocarpo e volume.Os resultados demonstram que houve diferença estatística entre as subespécies, sendo a sclerocarpa com valores muito superiores em todos os parâmetros estudados, demonstrando seu potencial produtivo e consequentemente genético.
