This study was focused on identifying the influence of YouTube videos, as a listening learning media. It is believed that the audio visual mode may improve students' listening ability, and make listening more interesting. In this study, pre-experimental quantitative, with one group pre-test post-test, was applied. This research design was intended to analyze students' listening ability both at the initial, and final part. The subjects of this study were 23 undergraduate students of English Department, University of Lampung, taken from pre intermediate listening class. After the calculation of Paired sample t-test, it was found that the result of the two tailed significance was 0.000. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is significant influence of using YouTube videos toward students' listening comprehension. Regarding students' perception toward the use of YouTube videos, a survey in the form of a questionnaire was also distributed to all 23 students. The results showed that all participants assumed that using YouTube videos made listening class more encouraging.

The use of online media to facilitate distant learning during the pandemic has become one of the solutions that can be implemented to support the government's policy of reducing crowds in public spaces. In this case, students at the University of Lampung's Faculty of Teacher Training and Education benefit from an online management system called Virtual Class Unila. This platform is intended for students to use to access resources, download learning modules, and participate in classroom discussions. The Virtual Class was created to assist students with distance learning. However, since the initial implementation of Virtual Class at the start of the pandemic in early 2020, both positive and negative perceptions about its use have emerged. As a result, we were encouraged to ascertain diverse perceptions regarding the use of this sophisticated learning management system among students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. This study employed a quantitative approach, collecting data via a scaled survey questionnaire. The target participants were 272 students from various departments who were asked to complete a survey regarding their perceptions of the implementation of Virtual Class. The findings of this study are expected to be beneficial for the future maintenance and development of Virtual Class, as well as for determining the optimal method of conducting online learning.

Instagram has been used as the medium to upload photos, e.g. picture series. The current research was intended to find out I) whether picture series on Instagram could facilitate students to improve their writing achievement, II) students' perceptions of the use picture series. The design of the research was mixed quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subjects of the research were 31 students of thefirstgradeofSMANegeri2BandarLampung. The data were collected through the writing tests (pre and post-tests) and questionnaires. The results showed that (i) there was a statistically significant improvement of the students' writing achievement after the students were taught using picture series on Instagram with the significant 0.05. (ii) There were positive perceptions of the use of picture series on Instagram. This suggests that picture series on Instagram facilitates students to improve students' writing achievement.

Pronunciation is an essential component of communicative competence, yet many EFL learners make pronunciation errors frequently. The English teacher in SMAS Global Madani Bandarlampung stated that students find it difficult to pronounce English words with certain consonants including friction consonants. The objectives of this research were to find out i) pronunciation errors of friction consonants that students made frequently and ii) the factors that influenced the errors. The approach of this research was qualitative. There were 20 students of the second grade chosen randomly. Performance assessment was used to collect the data. The data were analyzed by using the formula of Measures of Central Tendency. The data were also computed by using SPSS 26.0 for Windows. The result showed that the friction consonants that the students produced frequently were /v/ (31.5%) and /?/ (26%). In addition, the result of the students’ responses showed that the errors were caused by some factors. Those were exposure, first language (L1) background, lack of confidence, and attitude.

The objectives of this research are to investigate the kind of errors that students frequently made in the use of word order in recount text and investigate the reason why students make errors in the use of word order in writing recount text. This study takes a qualitative approach, with 15 high school students who lived in LKSA Budi Utomo Metro, Indonesia as the data sources. The instruments used in this research were writing test, interview guideline, and recorder to collect the data. The data results showed that 119 errors appear frequently in the writing test which then were classified into two types such as in sentence structure which there were 97 errors or 81% out of total and noun phrase were 22 errors or 18,5%. Additionally, the students’ interview response showed that first language interference and carelessness became the reasons why they made errors.
