ResumoAs espécies de Tibouchina são herbáceas, arbustivas ou arbóreas, freqüentes nas áreas abertas ou em regeneração, nas diversas formações vegetacionais do estado do Paraná. O gênero pode ser reconhecido pelas flores diplostêmones, com estames dispostos em dois ciclos desiguais, com apêndices do conectivo ventrais, bilobados, ovário súpero revestido por tricomas no ápice, e frutos capsulares com semente cocleadas, com superfície tuberculada. No Paraná, o gênero está representado por 30 espécies, das quais 26 nativas, incluindo duas espécies endêmicas, e outras quatro que ocorrem apenas sob cultivo. Neste trabalho, são apresentadas chave de identificação ilustrada, descrições, comentários taxonômicos, listas de coletores e dados de distribuição geográfica das espécies. AbstractThe species of Tibouchina are herbaceous, shrubby or arboreal, and are frequent in open or regenerating areas in vegetation types in the state of Paraná. They can be recognized by the diplostemonous flowers, with two unequal cycles of stamens, these with ventral, bilobed appendages on the connective, by the ovary covered by trichomes at its apex, and by the capsular fruits with cochleate and tuberculate seeds. In Paraná the genus has 30 species, from which 26 are native, including two endemics, and the other four are cultivated. Here we present an illustrated key, descriptions, taxonomic comments, specimen lists and data on the distribution of the species.

Os gêneros Aciotis D.Don, Acisanthera P. Browne, Marcetia DC., Microlepis (DC.) Miq., Pterolepis (DC.) Miq., Siphanthera Pohl ex DC., além de Tibouchina Aubl., são os representantes da tribo Melastomeae no estado do Paraná. À exceção do último, cada um apresenta apenas uma espécie no estado, respectivamente: Aciotis paludosa (Mart. ex DC.) Triana, Acisanthera variabilis (DC.) Triana, Marcetia taxifolia (A.St.-Hil.) DC., Microlepis oleifolia (DC.) Triana, Pterolepis glomerata (Rottb.) Miq. e Siphanthera cordata Pohl ex DC. Os registros de Microlepis e Siphanthera são os primeiros para estes gêneros no Paraná e região Sul. Neste trabalho foi elaborado um tratamento taxonômico para as espécies de Melastomeae no Estado, exceto para Tibouchina. São fornecidas chave de identificação, descrições dos gêneros e espécies, comentários taxonômicos, ilustrações, informações sobre distribuição geográfica e listagens de materiais examinados.

Neste trabalho são apresentados ajustes taxonômicos resultantes de um estudo sobre o gênero Tibouchina Aubl. no Estado do Paraná. É descrita uma nova espécie, Tibouchina saxicola F.S. Meyer, P.J.F. Guim. & R. Goldenb., da seção Pseudopterolepis Cogn., que aparentemente é endêmica do Parque Estadual do Cerrado, no município de Jaguariaíva. São também sinonimizadas duas espécies: Tibouchina catharinensis Brade sob T. dusenii Cogn., e Tibouchina marumbiensis Wurdack sob T. hatschbachii Wurdack.

Three new species of Pleroma are described: Pleroma costatocalyx, P. kollmanniana and P. subsessilis. All three species are morphologically similar to Tibouchina heteromalla and related species, especially due to the shrubby habit, elongated inflorescences, flowers with purple petals, but white at their bases, antesepalous stamens with the connective covered with glandular trichomes, and by the short (ca. 4–5 mm long), curved style. All three species differ from T. heteromalla by the styles with trichomes (vs. glabrous in T. heteromalla). Pleroma costatocalyx also differs from T. heteromalla by the longitudinally costate hypanthium, P. kollmanniana by the strongly winged branches, bigger leaves, and shorter petioles, and P. subsessilis by the concolorous leaves and antepetalous stamens with glabrous connective and appendages. All new species grow in vegetation associated with inselbergs and are endemic to Espírito Santo state, despite the fact that one of them (P. costatocalyx) was collected very close to the border with Minas Gerais, where it probably occurs. We present descriptions, taxonomic comments, illustrations, and conservation status assignments for the new species.

A new species of Pleroma from Serra dos Carajás, Pará state, Brazil, is described. Pleroma carajasense occurs in southeastern Amazonia, northern Brazil, in canga vegetation, on ironstone outcrops. It is morphologically related to Tibouchina caatingae, because both are shrubs with elliptic to oval leaves, conspicuous petioles (3–17 mm and 10–15 mm, respectively), a pair of elliptic bracteoles, and purple petals, anthers (both cycles) and style. Pleroma carajasense differs from T. caatingae by its chartaceous leaves (versus coriaceous in T. caatingae), with an obtuse to cuneate base (vs. obtuse to subcordate), hypanthium 4–7 × 1.2–4 mm (vs. 10–15 × 3–5 mm). According to IUCN criteria, this species should be considered endangered (EN). A morphological description, illustrations, photos in the field, scanning electronic micrographs of the leaf indumentum and seeds, information on conservation status and distribution are presented.

Four new species from the complex around Pleroma heteromallum, endemic from Espírito Santo, Brazil, are described: Pleroma cucullatum, P. fontanae, P. fornograndense and P. venetiense. All these new species are rupicolous, grow in vegetation associated with inselbergs, and are endangered.
