Na última década temos visto um aumento da literatura, no campo da Educação Física, abordando casos de pessoas com deficiência, particularmente, casos de alunos. O estudo aqui proposto direciona o foco para o professor de Educação Física objetivando investigar a atuação de uma professora com deficiência física, que atua como personal training em uma academia de ginástica. A partir de uma abordagem qualitativa de investigação, optou-se por desenvolver um Estudo de Caso. Como resultados foi possível identificar uma profissão e um ambiente de trabalho atravessado pelo preconceito e pelo estereótipo, principalmente, no que diz respeito à estética do corpo. Por outro lado, os resultados também evidenciam a negação, por parte da personal training, sobre esses mesmos aspectos. O estudo considera que há uma tensão entre o preconceito velado e a posição de negação, desse preconceito, pela profissional.
Neste ensaio, pretende-se descrever e refletir sobre a representação e o preconceito no esporte, a partir da história de uma atleta transexual de voleibol, no alto rendimento. O texto pretende trazer para o debate as marcas da exclusão e da violência que deixam vestígios no sujeito transexual. É um ensaio de caráter descritivo e qualitativo. Os teóricos que sustentam essa discussão são dos estudos de cultura. Apesar das questões fisiológicas, principalmente na questão de força muscular que envolvem a problemática sobre a atleta, sugerindo que ela poderia ter uma vantagem sobre as mulheres cisgênero, a grande discussão e reflexão neste ensaio não é por esse viés, apesar de ser importante. Aborda e problematiza sobre a representação de uma atleta transexual no meio esportivo e quais foram os caminhos tortuosos, por ela passado, para chegar até o alto rendimento. Pude inferir que a discussão sobre a representação e o gênero transexual no esporte não está fechada e deve estar em pauta. Que o preconceito e a discriminação que o transexual sofre no meio social, sobretudo no esporte, ainda é uma realidade dura e recorrente. Porém, todo esse cenário abjetista, de preconceito, desrespeito e desigualdade deve ser pensado, alterado e problematizado o quanto antes.
