RESUMO Este artigo busca discutir o histórico da criação do Palácio Tiradentes dentro do contexto de construção de edifícios públicos que marcaram a autoridade do governo republicano brasileiro na cidade do Rio de Janeiro durante as primeiras décadas do século XX. Procura compreender as relações simbólicas pretendidas pela comissão responsável na escolha do programa iconográfico adotado para a decoração do Palácio Tiradentes. Apresenta um estudo de caso sobre uma das pinturas decorativas que compõem o programa iconográfico do Palácio Tiradentes, a saber: a obra Assinatura da Constituição de 1891 (1926) de autoria de Eliseu Visconti. O objetivo é entender as intenções simbólicas inerentes à escolha do tema da Constituição de 1891 dentro de um programa iconográfico de diretrizes republicanas. E, por fim, refletir sobre como Eliseu Visconti tratou e reinventou o tema da Constituição dentro de certa tradição artística.
Este texto investiga a reflexão estética do filósofo Maurice Merleau-Ponty sobre a vida e a obra de Paul Cézanne. Discorre sobre a tese do filósofo acerca do retorno ao mundo percebido, a pintura e a expressão. A partir desses temas, foi desenvolvida uma leitura sobre a obra A dúvida de Cézanne. Este estudo pretende apontar as contribuições da filosofia de Merleau-Ponty para a discussão da produção de Cézanne em meio ao seu processo de criação artística.
A “Momentaufnahme” ou “Arte Atual de Berlim” foi uma importante exposição de arte recebida no Brasil para uma temporada de seis meses, com a primeira mostra realizada no Espaço Cultural José Lins do Rêgo, em João Pessoa, Paraíba, em agosto de 1987, com a participação de cento e vinte trabalhos de cerca de 40 artistas da Alemanha. Neste texto objetivamos analisar o impacto da exposição na Paraíba. Utilizamos a pesquisa qualitativa com revisão bibliográfica, analisando a recepção da crítica e dos artistas locais e a contínua influência da arte contemporânea alemã na arte paraibana.
