Objetivo: Avaliar o comportamento da COVID-19 em municípios de pequeno porte. Métodos: Estudo transversal, retrospectivo, com dados de fichas de notificação do sistema Notifica COVID-19 da 14° Regional de Saúde do estado do Paraná, entre março de 2020 e maio de 2021, após os dados foram analisados em planilhas eletrônicas, com cálculo de prevalência e incidência. O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa. Resultados: Das 86.848 fichas analisadas, 21.061 eram pacientes com diagnóstico positivo para COVID-19. Destes, 16.114 eram pacientes recuperados, 4.504 com doença ativa e 443 óbitos. Quanto à incidência de casos, maiores em 2021, nos meses de fevereiro, março e maio. Os óbitos ocorreram em maiores de 20 anos, 42% tinham comorbidades, destacando-se: Hipertensão arterial, Diabetes Mellitus e Obesidade. Conclusões: A regional analisada, mesmo não sendo uma das mais populosas, apresentou prevalência, incidência e mortalidade e o estudo contribuiu para alertar as autoridades sanitárias no controle de transmissão e intensificação das restrições.
A injúria hepática induzida por medicamentos (DILI – que vem do inglês Drug Induced Liverr Injury) consiste numa lesão ocasionada por medicamentos, ervas e xenobióticos, que levam a alterações hepáticas. A incidência de DILI na pediatria é desconhecida, pois casos são subclínicos ou subnotificados. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão da literatura para identificar os principais medicamentos envolvidos em DILI na pediatria. Foram identificados 339 artigos nas bases de dados, sendo que 48 foram selecionados para leitura na íntegra e após seleção e elegibilidade totalizou-se 13 artigos. A DILI na pediatria é um desafio pela vasta clínica, diagnóstico difícil e tratamento inespecífico. Foi verificada elevada e heterogênea possibilidade de fármacos que causam dano hepático em crianças. É importante que estudos sejam realizados para garantir melhores resultados quanto ao diagnóstico, prevenção e tratamento, assim como a organização de bancos de dados com informações sobre eventos adversos hepáticos envolvendo o uso de medicamentos na pediatria.
Os tumores de células germinativas são caracterizados por achados clínicos e histológicos distintos que afetam o prognóstico e, por isso, como grupo heterogêneo, é difícil generalizar como esses tumores irão reagir e se comportar. Representam mais de 95% das neoplasias testiculares e, mais raramente, acometem os ovários e áreas extragonadais ao longo da linha média do corpo (mediastino, retroperitônio, glândula pineal, região sacral), o que está relacionado à embriogênese. Diante desses fatos, o estudo em questão tem como objetivo geral verificar o que a literatura existente tem pesquisado a respeito dos tumores de células germinativas em ovários e testículos em crianças e adolescentes, através de uma revisão de literatura. A revisão da literatura realizada demonstra que, embora existam poucos estudos publicados, os tumores de câncer de células germinativas afetam principalmente crianças, adolescentes e pré-púberes, evoluindo rapidamente, com alto potencial metastático e podendo levar a um mau prognóstico. Com o aumento das taxas de sobrevivência de crianças e adultos jovens tratados de câncer, o gerenciamento de efeitos colaterais agudos ou de longo prazo torna-se cada vez mais importante.
