A "cola" constitui-se uma problemática no processo da educação formal e, ainda pouco discutida, pelos órgãos responsáveis pelo processo de ensino e aprendizagem escolar. A avaliação, principal instrumento metodológico para aferir o desempenho da aprendizagem escolar do aluno(a), em muitos casos, sofre com a utilização de meios considerados ilícitos praticados por estudantes em sala de aula. Alguns estudos, a partir de uma visão ética consideram a "cola," em vários momentos na escola, como uma prática fraudulenta. Outros consideram esta ação como justificável como direito de aluno(a) em aprender. Deste modo, objetiva-se no presente trabalho analisar a presença da "cola" dentro da escola pública de Ensino Médio São Sebastião, situada no município de Apuiarés-CE, a partir da visão dos alunos(as) do terceiro ano. Buscou-se compreender as possíveis causas que levam os estudantes a "colar" durante as provas avaliativas em sala de aula. Para desenvolver esta pesquisa utilizou-se uma abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa, com uso de materiais bibliográficos que possibilitaram maior compreensão deste fenômeno. Assim como, de questionários destinados aos alunos(as) com perguntas objetivas a respeito do tema. Os resultados deste estudo apontam que há uma utilização desta prática por parte dos estudantes, funcionando para muitos como uma busca em prosseguir na sua trajetória escolar, o que pode indicar que há uma reflexão a ser feita sobre os métodos de avaliação utilizados neste nível de ensino. Considerase a necessidade de uma discussão profunda das escolas sobre este tema, já que se evidenciou o uso da "cola" em diferentes momentos.
