Persistent spectral holeburning, luminescence line narrowing and selective excitation spectroscopy of the R lines of Cr(III) tris(2,2'bipyridine) in amorphous hostsThe quantum yields of luminescence and 2 E lifetimes have been determined as a function of temperature for Cr3+ in the crystalline hosts, KaCo(CN)6, NaMgAl(C20,la·9H20, C(NH2)aAl(SO,h·6H20\GASH), C(NH2)aAl(SO')2·6D20(GASD), AlCla·6H20, and AlCla·6D20. The effect of st~~ture and envlro~m~nt on the nonradiative transitions has been assessed. For a given complex, the probabIlity of the nonradiative 2E--vvv74A2 transition mayor may not depend. upon environment. In all cases, only phosp.hore~ce~ce is observed at low temperatures, but upon warnung, the aquo complexes fluoresce. Depopulation VIa T2 is the dominant thermal relaxation process of 2 E.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
