Abstract-This paper analyzes saliency-based sensorless control methods for ac machines. The paper focuses on three different methods, which utilize the following signals: negative-sequence carrier-signal current, zero-sequence carrier-signal voltage, and pulesewidth-modulation-switching zero-sequence voltage. Applicability of these methods for both rotor position estimation (tracking of rotor-position-dependent saliencies) and flux position estimation (tracking of flux-dependent saliencies) is studied for each method, as well as aspects of their implementation.Index Terms-Flux angle estimation, rotor position estimation, saliency-based sensorless control.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
