The Anadara tuberculosa species, called in the Republic of Ecuador as "Concha Prieta", is a bivalve mollusk that lives in the mesolithic zones associated with red mangrove roots that have a wide distribution on the Pacific Ocean coast. Its production chain is based on an empirical extraction model that presents low levels of competitiveness and cooperation. The purpose of this dissertation is to describe and analyze how the production chain of the brown shell can be transformed into a "Value Chain", through the conceptualization of a theoretical model of relationships between agribusiness management, as an independent variable, performance of the value chain as a dependent variable, as well as environmental management and innovation management, as mediating or energizing variables, of the process of changing the production chain to a value chain for the brown shell. The methodology used was documentary research. The result was an iconography on the theoretical model of relations between the aforementioned variables. It is concluded that the proposed theoretical model can serve as a basis for initiating a broader study on the process of transformation of the productive chain to the value chain of the brown shell.
The present study is of an exploratory nature. It analyzed the internal cocoa market at formal intermediary level in the municipalities of Pasaje and Santa Rosa, in the province of El Oro. The objective of this study is to estimate the time involved in the business of buying and selling Dry cocoa from the intermediaries when compared to the total cocoa exported and traded locally in 2014. It determines the percentage share of the national and CCN51 cacao production sites in Pasaje and Santa Rosa. For this purpose, the entire population was surveyed by 48 traders registered under the area of these studies. Also, the following variables were considered: time of commercial activity, time of purchase, total export in 2014, participation based on the type of cocoa in the local market, and origin of purchases. The results show that ≥50% of the respondents had more than 10 years of experience in the activity, with a total export of 2.43% in 2014. The result is in favour of the CCN51 cocoa which represented 71% of the total marketed between the two municipalities. This, however, came from Casacay in Pasaje and the rural area of Santa Rosa. The remaining 29% of the national cacao was identified in Progreso alto in Pasaje and Bella María in Santa Rosa. Similar research was recommended so as to determine the real contribution of the national cocoa at the level of local intermediation.
The purpose of this article is to predict the impact of variables planted area, rainfall and temperature on production. The research is focused on the analysis of agricultural statistical information from Ecuador, which was compiled from institutions such as the Surface Survey and Continuing Agricultural Production (ESPAC) and the Agricultural Information System (SINAGAP). For the statistical analysis of the information the multiple linear regression method was used using the software SPSS 21. The results obtained show that 51.86% of the variability is predicted by the variable planted area. It is important to continue producing gasoline blends with ethanol from sugarcane and diesel with biodiesel, focusing this on the production transformation framed in the National Plan for Good Living 2013-2017, thus promoting energy security, reducing emissions of Longterm greenhouse effect. The results presented predict the variables that most influence the agricultural production of sugar cane.
