While perceived consumer effectiveness has consistently been linked to socially conscious attitudes, such as sustainable consumption decisions, the concept appears to have been confounded with other related constructs in the empirical studies measuring its effects on consumer buying intentions and consumer behaviour. A sustainable food consumer evaluation is based on product values and credibility to health, origin, environment, and ethical concerns. The research aimed to examine if sustainability-related perceived consumer effectiveness has an impact on purchase intention and willingness to pay for sustainable food products, in order to provide information on the pricing of sustainable foods. The study was carried out using a quantitative approach on a sample of 1204 young consumers using a self-administered online questionnaire. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between perceived consumer effectiveness and consumers’ willingness to pay a premium price for sustainable food attributes. Based on this willingness to pay a premium price for food products, a WTP Index was developed. The findings revealed that perceived effectiveness has a strong connection with the buying intention of food products with sustainable attributes.
The spread of blockchain technology is gaining ground worldwide, including in the supply chain and logistics sector. Its proliferation is expected to transform supply chains. Academic research is needed to investigate the reasons for and barriers to adoption. The objective of this study is to explore the blockchain (BC) platform and its inputs as technological solutions. In addition, the application of blockchain technology in managing supply chain (SC) business processes like shipment tracking, authenticity, and identification is also a focus of research. This research was carried out in three ways to explore the issue. Expert interviews were used to develop a research framework for the comparative analysis of BC platforms to find out the benefits and the barriers of blockchain adoption. In association with the diffusion of the technology, a qualitative comparative analysis was applied to benchmark blockchain platform providers. We analysed the blockchain-supply chain market by component, provider, type, and the conditions of usage. As part of this research, the Forbes TOP 50 companies were analysed by business area, country of origin, application area, and benefits in order to see in which area they applied blockchain technology and what improvements they have achieved. The results revealed that blockchain use in supply chains of selected industries has outstanding benefits of transparency, trustworthiness, traceability, and cost efficiencies which give businesses an advantage in terms of implementation costs, technology needs, human resources, legal environments, volatile costs, and security. In the supply chain, Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum are the most widely used blockchain platforms. For practical implication, the application and benefits of BC in SC were analysed, and the results indicate the traceability, sustainability-related, cost, and time-saving benefits.
With the digital transformation of businesses, digital marketing has been a prominent feature of organizations in the 21st century. Changing consumer behavior has also created a need for versatile hard and soft skills for marketing professionals. Inspired by the ongoing disruption to businesses across the world, this research focuses on employability skills in the field of e-commerce. A systematic review of the managerial research literature on digital marketing and e-commerce competencies has revealed a research gap regarding the investigation of the perceived importance of employability skills. The aim of this paper is to find out how important these skills are for future and current employees. The novelty of this study is the comparison between perceptions related to nonworking versus working young employees based on five key skill categories across 30 soft and hard skills. The study is quantitative in nature: a self-administered computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) method is used for data collection. The findings reveal that the examined skills are perceived as important from the employee point of view. In addition to exploring the perceived relevance of the employability skills categories, the study identifies differences among the skills that young workers consider important in terms of their work experience. The research results reveal significant differences by work segments in relation to soft skills, such as teamwork, stress resilience, planning, organization and time management, precision, and attention to detail.
As a result of its dynamic growth, the service sector has become the dominant sector of national economies in developed countries. At the end of the 20 th century people began to perceive tertiary education as a service and this has brought about a change in their attitude towards higher education considering it as a commodity that can be bought. Non-business services like higher education are increasingly shaped by market forces and marketisation trends. The study examines the market structure of Hungarian higher education sector through enrolment data in Academic Year 2010-11. The paper presents various metrics of concentration based upon the number of students. The data analysis is performed using the Lorenz curve, the Gini index (G), the concentration coefficient (C) and the Herfindahl-Hirschman index (HHI). The paper examines the market segmentation of higher education, specially focusing on the enrolment data of management and business studies of higher education.
Student mobility is consideredone of the mostexplicit forms ofthe internationalization of tertiary education. There are several positive effects of a study abroadexperience for a university student regarding personal and professional development, too. Creativity, flexibility and complex thinking could lead to better professional opportunities and greaterjob market success, which are all among the beneficial consequences of a study abroad experience. This study has processed the primary data collected by interviewing Hungarian mobile and non-mobile university students about their study experiences. The comparative analysis of the two groups has led to statistically significant differences regarding the satisfaction and development of university students.Mobile students tended to be more satisfied with their host institution on the basis of several factors like the quality of the program, technical equipment, administration anduniversity life.Students had various motivations and possibilities in the selection process for a home and a host institution. It was also important to analyze the personal and professional development of mobile and non-mobile students. Mobile students were more likely to improve their personal and language competencies abroad. The utmost results mobile students experienced were in openness, inquiry, adaptation and self-knowledge. The greatest differences in personal development between the two groups appeared in tolerance, self-confidence and selfknowledge.
