Gegenstand des Beitrags sind Interaktionen in Peergroups von Kindern bzw. Präadoleszenten und ihre Rolle für den Erwerb von diskursiven Fähigkeiten im Bereich des ‚situationsangemessenen Sprachgebrauchs'. Der Blick richtet sich dabei auf kommunikative Gattungen, besonders das Erzählen, als zentrale Praktiken der Identitätsbildung von Cliquen mit unterschiedlichen Kommunikationskulturen. Aus gesprächsanalytischer Perspektive werden die besonderen Anforderungen an das Erzählen in Gruppen von Gleichaltrigen herausgearbeitet und systematisch auf ihre Funktionalität für peergroup-spezifische Zwecke wie Unterhaltung, Gruppenkonsolidierung und Statusaushandlung bezogen. Auf Basis exemplarischer Gesprächsausschnitte aus der Studie "DisKo" wird vorgeführt, welche speziellen Anforderungen die sequenzielle Einbettung und der Zuschnitt auf kommunikative und interaktive Erfordernisse der Peergroup stellen und welche Ressourcen sie erfordern.
