Bu araştırma, Türkiye Finansal Raporlama Standartlarının muhasebe meslek mensupları tarafından bilinen farklılıkları ve bu standartlara ilişkin yaklaşımlarını tespit etmeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu kapsamda Ankara Serbest Muhasebeci Mali Müşavirler Odasına kayıtlı ve mesleki faaliyetlerini bağımsız olarak yürüten 392 Serbest Muhasebeci Mali Müşavirden (SMMM) anket yoluyla elde edilen veriler frekans dağılımı ve aritmetik ortalama ile değerlendirilmiştir. Katılımcıların demeografik özelliklerine göre finansal raporlama standartlarına ilişkin yaklaşımlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olup olmadığının tespit edilebilmesi için Kruskal-Wallis H Testi ve Mann-Whitney U Testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, araştırmaya katkı sağlayan muhasebe meslek mensuplarının muhasebe alanındaki küresel gelişmeleri yakından takip ettikleri ancak bilgilendirme faaliyetlerinde ve uygulama eğitiminde eksiklikler olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca finansal raporlama standartlarının yabancı dilden çeviri yapılması bazı kavramsal karmaşıkların ortaya çıkmasına yol açtığı bu suretle ilgili standartları öğrenmekte zorluk çektikleri tespit edilmiştir.
Bu çalışma, muhasebe meslek mensuplarının mükellef sayılarına kota getirilmesine ilişkin olarak meslek mensuplarının görüş ve düşüncelerini ortaya koymayı ve bu çerçevede kota konusu ile ilgili tespit ve değerlendirmelerde bulunmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu kapsamda Ankara SMMM Odasına kayıtlı ve mesleki faaliyetlerini bağımsız olarak yürüten 394 Serbest Muhasebeci Mali Müşavir 'den (SMMM) anket yoluyla elde edilen veriler frekans dağılımı ve aritmetik ortalama ile değerlendirilmiştir. Katılımcıların demografik özelliklerine göre mesleğe, meslektaşa, meslek örgütüne ve kota uygulamasına bakışlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olup olmadığının saptanması amacıyla Kruskal-Wallis H Testi ve Mann-Whitney U Testi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda, araştırmaya katılan muhasebe meslek mensuplarının yüzde 85,3'lük oranına göre mükellef sayılarına kota getirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca muhasebe meslek mensuplarının meslektaşa karşı güven ve meslek örgütüne karşı aidiyet duygularını kaybettikleri ve mesleğin özellikle sosyal açıdan beklentileri karşılamadığı tespit edilmiştir.
