Shift scheduling problems (SSPs) are advanced NP-hard problems which are generally evaluated with integer programming. This study presents an applicable shift schedule of workers in a large-scale natural gas combined cycle power plant (NGCCPP), which realize 35.17% of the total electricity generation in Turkey alone, as at of the end of 2018. This study included 80 workers who worked three shifts in the selected NGCCPP for 30 days. The proposed scheduling model was solved according to the skills of the workers, and there were nine criteria by which the workers were evaluated for their abilities. Analytic network process (ANP) is a method used for obtaining the weights of workers’ abilities in a particular skill. These weights are used in the proposed scheduling model as concepts in goal programming (GP). The SSP–ANP–GP model sees employees’ everyday preferences as their main feature, bringing high-performance to the highest level, and bringing an objective functionality, and lowering the lowest success of daily choice. At the same time, the model introduced large-scale and soft constraints that reflect the nature of the shift requirements of this program by specifying the most appropriate program. The required data were obtained from the selected NGCCPP and the model solutions were approved by the plant experts. The SSP–ANP–GP model was resolved at a reasonable time. Monthly acquisition time was significantly reduced, and the satisfaction of the employees was significantly increased by using the obtained program. When past studies were examined, it was determined that a shift scheduling problem of this size in the energy sector had not previously been studied.
Anahtar Kelimeler: Analitik ağ süreci (AAS), Hedef programlama (HP), Tedarikçi seçimi, Çok ölçütlü karar verme (ÇÖKV) Supplier Selection with in Multi Criteria Decision Making Method and Goal Programming TechniquesABSTRACT: In crucial market conditions, companies try to resist and make some true choices about decision problems. One of the desired right decisions is the selection of appropriate supplier for the company. Within the simple statement, supplier selection problem can be defined as determining to buy from whom and how much. Companies must work with lots of suppliers to continue their activities. Selection of the suppliers in a group of candidate firms is a difficult decision problem. In this study, the supplier selection problem is discussed, which is operating in the automotive production sector. Goal Programming technique is used to solve the problem. Analytic Network Process (ANP) methods have been used to determine the weights of the criteria. In ANP calculations, 16 different criteria are defined under 4 main criteria and 12 sub-criteria by a team of purchasing department specialist. After that, SuperDecision 2.2.6 is used for making ANP calculations. In the light of these results, the structured model is solved by the help of LINGO 14.0 and best suppliers are verified for the company.
Abstract. Post Graduate Study has a very important role in people's career planning. Besides, it helps for gaining expertising on their fields. Specializing must be in the right area to reach their targets in line with people's interests. The aim of the study is to propose a model for students that determines which courses will be chosen on master course selection and this model gives an application example. In this study, course selection problem is discussed for post graduate students in Industrial Engineering Department of Kirikkale University. All criteria that are effected for selecting a course are identified by the help of survey then, significance levels are determined with using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) which is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making Method. According to the weights which are determined before in AHP results, six classes weighted by PROMETHEE method in Industrial Engineering Department.
Organizations need to focus on many parameters to reach their goals such as personnel satisfaction at the top level, profit maximization, increasing system efficiency and minimizing costs. By carefully examining the significant effect of personnel scheduling on the production of goods and services, achieving a fair distribution of work among the employees paves the way for higher motivation and performance of the employees, particularly, in production and service industries. In this paper, a systematic literature review (SLR) approach is used to demonstrate the necessity of scheduling studies in order to overcome the deficiencies in auxiliary activity groups. It sheds light on a new and very important areas such as examining the model structures of sector differences, and guiding researchers. New trends and approaches are presented for the personnel scheduling problems. Different classification perspectives are displayed.
This study aims to examine the effects of organizational performance on the relationship between perceived organizational support (POS) and career satisfaction (CSAT) of employees. Our research question facilitates to understand how the interaction between POS and CSAT changes in the process of adaptation to environmental pressures. In order to find answers to our research question we carried out quantitative research and applied questionnaire as our method of data collection. Research sample is constituted with 10 insurance companies and 194 employees working in these companies. At the end of the study, our findings support that perceived organizational support effects career satisfaction more in high performance organizations, compared to low performance organizations.
