An updated checklist of the wasp family Crabronidae in Turkey is provided. It is based on records present in the literature and on newly identified specimens collected in Turkey. In this study, 537 species and 16 subspecies in 65 genera are listed. Among them, five species, namely Dryudella esterinae Pagliano, 2001, Nysson mimulus Valkeila, 1964, Crossocerus pullulus A. Morawitz, 1866, Oxybelus spectabilis Gerstaecker, 1867 and Diodontus insidiosus Spooner, 1938 are recorded for the first time from Turkey. New and additional records for 114 species are given. Collection localities and photographs of newly identified species are provided. Key words: Hymenoptera, Crabronidae, checklist, new records, additional records, Turkey
This study is based on the Symphyta (Hymenoptera) material collected from Bingol and Diyarbakır provinces of Turkey in 2019.The present paper is the second part of the series of papers investigating the sawfly fauna of the Anatolian biogeographic region. The so far recorded 38 species is extended to 58 species. Arge auripennis Konow, 1891, Arge pallidinervis Gussakovskij, 1935, Dolerus hispanicus Mocsáry, 1881 and Athalia dimidiata Konow, 1891 are new to the Turkish fauna. Sawfly biodiversity, flying activity and population densities are discussed. Moreover, dominant species, rare and interesting species are also listed. Collection localities, local names and geographical features of those localities, with threatening factors for the species are provided.
AbstractThe presence and intensity of harmful insects on yield variables and quality characteristics of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a growing interest, in almost all production area of Turkey. To determine the beneficial and harmful effects of certain insects on different bean varieties; called Local-1, Local-2, Local-3, Local-4, Aras-98, Yakutiye-98, Terzibaba, Mecidiye, Elkoca and Kantar,a field experimental was conducted at Bingol University, Agricultural Application and Research Center in 2016. Acanthoscelides obtectus collected from the present experimental were grown on the seeds of the mentioned bean cultivars under laboratory conditions. The population development and the detrimental effects of seed-beetle (Acanthoscelides obtectus) damages were also determined. According to the results, Terzibaba was found as the most resistant cultivar against Acanthoscelides obtectus, whereas Local-3 was the most sensitive one.
