All published localities of sawflies in the Carpathian Basin are listed and completed with about 4,300 new faunistic records o f 554 species. Pachynematus (Larinematus) tatricus spec. nov. is described and compared to Pachynematus imperfectus (Zaddach, 1876). Twelve species are first records fór the fauna of the Carpathian Basin, 35 species fór Transylvania, 12 species fór Subcarpathia, 16 species fór Slovakia and 16 species fór Hungary. Six species are deleted from the fauna of the Carpathian Basin, 4 írom the Hungárián fauna and 5 from the Slovak fauna. The history o f the sawfly research in the Carpathian Basin is discussed and the natúré conservation status of the rarest species is evaluated. 782 species are listed from the Carpathian Basin.
105 species were collected in Belső Somogy. With the present results, the known number of sawflies of this area increased up to 164. 11 rare species were captured:
Dolerus varispinus Hartig, 1837; Nematus respondens Förster, 1854; Pristiphora kamtchatica Malaise, 1931 and Pristiphora nievesi sp. n. are recorded from Spain for the first time. The description of Pristiphora nievesi sp. n. is given and compared to P. subbifida (Thomson, 1871); P. carpentieri Konow, 1903 and P. parnasia Konow, 1902.
167 sawfly species are recorded from the Vértes Mountains. Periclista albipennis (Zaddach, 1859), Amauronematus humeralis (Serville, 1823) and Pristiphora biscalis (Förster, 1854) are new records for the Hungarian sawfly fauna.
573 specimens of 110 species were collected in the Cserhát Mountains. The presence of Sterictiphora furcata (Villers, 1789) confirmed and documented first time in the Carpathian Basin. Rare species are: Empria hungarica (Konow, 1895), Aprosthema austriacum (Konow, 1892), Arge pleuritica (Klug, 1834), Monardis plana (Klug, 1817), Hoplocampa pectoralis Thomson, 1871, Pachynematus moerens (Förster, 1854) and Pristiphora abbreviata (Hartig, 1837).
The first paper on sawflies of Zselicség (Hungary, South-West Transdanubia) is presented. 192 sawfly species are recorded. Paracharactus (Dicrostema) gracilicornis (Zaddach, 1859) is a new record for the Hungarian sawfly fauna.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
